I console myself knowing that Brad would play Humphrey in the back pocket anyway. That, or he would be chronically injured at Essington.

At draft time I thought Phillipou or Humphrey were the best targets, and TBH I think I favoured Phillipou. But yeah, retrospectively Humphrey looks like the one that got away. He already has elite AFL traits. I still think Phillipou will be a top liner when he gets his body right. The stretch of games he played in the middle late last year were very impactful. Not a big fan of high possession, low impact type players.

Happy to be corrected but weren’t there knocks on Humphrey’s kicking in his draft year? I remember being relieved we didn’t take him.
Been pretty horrible tonight, and for a few weeks.
He has either given up or the coaching his screwed with his natural game.

Why do we think Merrett has any better idea of winning culture and standards than Heppell or any of the other marshmallows in our club?
He’s been shithouse for weeks, and has run around tonight with a face like a smacked arsse.
I thought he was better than this. Now I’m not so sure.

I’ve always copped it on here because I don’t rate him anywhere nearly as highly as most other do.
I recon he is a soft outside accumulator who uses the ball very well half the time and the other half has 0 hurt factor with his disposal.

To be frank he’s struggling to hit the side of a barn with his kicks atm, no idea where his incisive and aggressive kick has gone but it’s incredibly frustrating to watch
