Just saw the fall out after going to the gym.

‘Hey Brad. It’s Zach. Just wondering when the first training is?’

I’ve ran out likes but this deserves one

Ugh. You’re either all in, or… well nothing I guess.

27 - with Tassie concessions and let’s say another top 4 finish, it’d be about 25-30

Hawthorn are ratfuckers.

No top 10 player on draft night this year or next was no good for Merrett.

We already have 5 top 30 picks. This offer had to come much earlier in the week for us to work with it.

We can’t draft 7 players as it stands. Would have had to package up some picks or trade out Hobbs/Tsatas/Lual etc.

Hawthorn wanted a deal that was good enough on paper, offloaded some of their junk, but did not give us much chance to get better.

I just don’t get it

All we do is shuffle the board deck chairs get the same result

Just like our clueless game plan does the club actually have any plan to win a premiership

Cue vision boards please :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Think it is a disaster for us keeping a disgruntled 30 year old captain. The picks would have accelerated a much needed rebuild even if at the cost of having to swallow our pride. Unless we get 6-7 really strong more years out of Merrett I cant see how this does anything to help our rebuild.

Presumably he is stripped of his captaincy soon as one final ignominy. This is also potentially now the beginning of a 12 month circus which is the last thing we need.

■■■■ Hawthorn for not ponying up last minute like the Swans did with Curnow.

Merrett wouldn’t even crack the top 10. He’s consistent and occasionally brilliant, but not enough of a match winner. Plus he’s a feckin sook.

TBH without a player they just didn’t have it.

And it’s reflective of who has gone to top 8 clubs.

Clarry was a problem so given away to GWS
Trac chose Gold Coast - they actually had currency
Draper/Allen move to Brisbane on free agency.

Who went to Geelong? Nada they don’t have the trade currency.

Who went to Collingwood?

Players want to get to finals sides - pick places where a deal can get done or go as a free agent.

The players who wanted out to mid or bottom sides got there (cept for Aleer)

The picks weren’t that great

I reckon alot of clubs would be saying privately… well done essendon for finally sticking up for themselves… it’s called Zac’s Law

I honestly dont know what our plan is. I geuss its stick with the same guys and hope the competition gets worse magically.

God knows what the game plan is but I would put my house on Brad being sacked by July next year and talk of hird coming back with links to welsh

If Merrett was smart, he would front up tomorrow at the club and trained until he spewed up. then do the same on Friday. then on Saturday …

He has to earn the respect of every single one of his team mates. I don’t think he will ever earn back their trust
