He has a great attack and attitude, but no obvious strengths. He’s a slow decision maker and needs to hurt oppisition teams otherwise he’s just gonna get his 20 odd each week.

It was very noticeable yesterday that he hesitated with ball in hand, looking for a hb option, got nailed in tackles multiple times as a result.
Yes, but still is slow in his decisions, not defensive enough and can’t kick, which you can work on…
If I was Hoobs, I would reach out to Lachie Neal and ask him how Ross Lyon transformed his game into a defensive running gun midfielder

He’s reflective of our problems ie the list isn’t good enough. He’s not a decent small forward and he’s not a decent mid-fielder.

Well, from what we’ve seen, he’s slow by foot and mind, goes to ground too often, doesn’t stick his tackles, an average kick……but he’s competitive and his handball is decent
No issue with his effort and competitiveness, however, he is a pure inside midfielder who will not obtain this position at EFC. I expect him to be traded.

He’s 21 and has played 51 games, keep sending him up.

Just has to play midfield.
His problems become less noticeable when he is playing at the coal face in and amongst it.
If we arent going to play him there then he should be trade currency at the end of the year.

This. Give him the rest of the season in the middle, attending as many CBA’s as he can.
If he doesn’t cut it, trade him at the end of the year
At the moment we are only half developing him

I don’t see how he gets midfield time when we need to develop such promising upstarters as Setterfield and Shiel.

That’s a good thing, we bring back Parish and Caldwell, drop him to the twos, play Tsatas ahead of him and let him dominate the VFL, with the sample size we have given the league in the early part of the year plenty of clubs will come looking and we might be able to get another pick for him.
His is definitely fitter, he will be good, puts in effort

He gave Nick Daicos that easy goal to open Anzac Day, he was guarding grass and Goldy told him to go back, he waved his arms trying block the kicker rather than push back
To be fair on Hobbs it was Redman’s job at that stage of the game, however he needed to push back
