Toilet material. See ya
No thank you
May not be the answer I’m afraid.
He’s not the problem that needs fixed right now.
Yes he is
Seriously 16 possessions!! into the cannon
shrugs
I liked his midfield work.
He simply doesn’t get enough time in there.
There’s no point bagging the guy. Just trade him. And Tsatas.
Dont care about the possession count, but he is no good
He is - unskilled, slow and NGE
Trade
His not a forward and not a afl level mid.
Shouldn’t be in the side simple as that
Not very good. Not much to work with, which can’t be done better by someone else.
Delist/trade.
Time in a few months for Essendon to show some balls and rid itself of Hobbs, Tsatas, Perkins, Cox, Davey, Gresham, Laverde, Shiel, Menzie and Jones. And that’s without even looking at Parish, Redman and Langford.
Hobbs is depth. He is only in there because Duz is out.
It looks like Tsatas is also depth.
So , how many inside mids do we need as depth?
Where will these midfielders come from?
He had 64% time on ground. Only Lual, Perkins (sub) and Duursma (ink) had less. You’re being disingenuous.
Nobody on the ground had more tackles than Hobbs. Merrett also had one clearance.
Hobbs is not where the focus should be right now. We’ve got other, far more glaring deficiencies.
It’s always that mantra though of there’s other places to look.
But the guy is below average at everything and he played a lot of that time on the ground at the stoppage
lolz.
Hobbs and Tsatas are depth because we’ve farked them.
Don’t get it twisted, these two were in the top ten mids of their class.
Hobbs had as good a 2023 as you could hope for.
We’ve farked him. If you’re saying you never saw it then you simply haven’t paid attention.
It’s not Hobbs’ fault.
It’s not Tsatas’s fault.
It’s the club’s fault.
Trade them both.
Keeping them is doing a disservice to Everyone involved.
I’m going the other way. He has cleaned up his disposals. Was good with the ball. Also had the equal most tackles in the game, all whilst not getting much midfield time.
There is no point in keeping him if he’s not going to be playing 75%+ of his game time in the guts. He should have been playing in the centre since year 2 at the very latest, but we uncharacteristically turned a wingman (Duz) into an inside mid and Caldwell got over his injury problems. Then we brought in Setterfield who, while a decent player, has also stunted Hobbs’s potential growth.
I really loved his profile when we drafted him and his first year was really promising, but I’m afraid we have a terribly unbalanced list that is harming his development and prospects of being an AFL footballer.
