I think Dodoro jumped at him because he had been touted as an earlier draft pick and slipped to us. He loved those ‘bargains’ almost as much as poaching other players like Mosquito and Lual from under the noses of their home club. Tried it with Silvagni, too. Loved his optics.
I was sweating on Nasiah-Wanganeen, who I think went the pick before ours.

His just holding a spot cause we got no one else. Once others come on board via trade or draft he’ll be gone!
Most would agree that small forward isn’t a good fit for him. In reality, Oskar Smartt could play the role Hobbs has been playing and probably play it better.
Most would also agree that Hobbs was looking better than alright after his first 2 seasons, but year 3 went pear-shaped and he hasn’t had many opportunities in his preferred position since.
Until he gets that chance, I’m still backing him in. Unfortunately, it’ll either take a lot of patience or a new club for it happen. With both Caldwell and Parish missing games in the first half of the season, Scott really could’ve given Hobbs are bigger midfield push.
Personally I’m glad he’ll be back in 2’s playing in the guts rather than continuing to fail in the wrong role in the seniors.

Near the end of his game last night the commentators mentioned he had just 18 possessions. From I what I saw he was still trying to bust tackles, lacked penetration with his kicking, was slow and failed to chase. I agree noone is taking him.
It’s the best thing we can do - we need the list spot and he’s just the wrong type for AFL
