I’m 177cm and my body is telling me that I am too tall to be a midfielder. Long way down to pick up the ball.
One’s better than none
Richmond are going to rue that miss.
Let’s hope it’s Tambling all over again ![]()
We’ve drafted the next Aaron Sandilands. By 2027.
Taller than caddy then, but overall I prefer the idea of him as a tall midfielder rather than a key forward, although he can pinch hit forward, a Cripps or bont would be invaluable.
Robey can join Cox and Jones in our wing brigade ![]()
To those who saw him in juniors, did he ever play as a genuine FF when stationed up forward.
I had the impression that he played more as a powerful medium, hit up type.
He transitioned into a forward role at the start of last season for his local club. I can’t say if he played a more stay at home role for them or not. Once he moved to Eastern he played more of a higher half forward role.
Having said that, some of the traits he showed suggest that he might be able to play a deeper marking role. His hands are incredible… dare I suggest bucket like? He can mark through contact. His upper body strength is elite for a kid his age and he knows how to use it to push off an opponent to create space for a mark. He regularly created space on the lead and showed that he could read the play to get the timing of those leads right.
So the next Lloyd, I kinda was hoping for our own Bont. Oh well.
Why not both.gif
I’d take 25 touches and 2 snags a game 1st season, then a run at the Brownlow year 2 ![]()
After that recommendation, BS is likely to try him playing off a back flank.
Rick Edwards (@Begbie) just posted a video on his Patreon of Robey back running with the Rehab group
Would assume all clear from his scan and the ramp up begins now….
Understandable, we all need help in dealing with this stuff as we were born to be Bomber supporters.
I am happy to never hear we need a big bodied midfielder again
Is it just me or did he wince in pain at the end of that clip?
That was my first impression also
Weight of expectation grimace
