Hope we get to see a Sharp Robey Farrow centre square this year.
or even a Sharp Robey Tsatas.
Does anyone know what he wrote on the tape around his wrist?
Reminds me of Mitchell Starc with the ‘fk it, bowl fast’ tape a few years back.
I hope it’s along the same vein
He made some errors at the start of the game. A lesser player would of put his head down. He didn’t, thats a quality trait that will in the long run have a major impact on the other kids around him
I love Sulli. I wanted him in the draft and was feeling ill thinking Richmond is going to get him.
With the way he plays he gets out so many little handballs, you will miss it at the ground. I would love him to burst through and kick it so he becomes incredibly more damaging player.
I can’t remember if it was Richmond game or the Brisbane game… he was kicking 50m bullet passes to his team-mates. He has the power through his kicks. He needs to start using it, as he gets confident with his ability.
Loving his game at the moment. Is an absolute beast at the contest.
My only concern is that we don’t allow him to develop his outside game, and he turns into Setterfield.
It’s pretty important that we allow him to flourish on the outside, and push up forward…. The last thing we need is another player who is 100% contested, and doesn’t have outside impact. He’s just too good of a player to allow this to happen.
Look at the determination on his face, not to get beaten.
I think having Sharp back will allow for some of this, also thrusting Setters or Parish in there and telling Sully to play off them at times.
But having a ruckman winning the tap consistently and having running patterns established for our mids is required also
Agree. Sharp is critical to be that battering ram player. Robey should be inside/outside because of the really nice balance he has to his game. Even yesterday:
- 20 disposals (13 contested)
- 6 tackles (equal team high)
- 9 clearances
I’d like to see a more even balance of contested/uncontested possession, meaning he’s getting slightly more ball in space, where he can execute with his excellent field kicking. But he is tracking so well you forget he’s not even played 10 senior games.
Just learnt he doesn’t turn 19 until October. Absolutely ludicrous what he is doing as an 18 year old.
Cause ‘Lij was carving em up in there!
Come on down Harry Van Hattum
This kid could be the missing link in our midfield. We better get him.
Bryan is a 2nd ruck at best.
We’re drafting elite talent, now we just need the best development team possible to allow them to flourish.
Robey is a “ripper” so says Solly.
Based on how he played head to head with Reid and ended up with 9 clearances, I agree.
It was interesting listening to Bombers banter last night with Dylan Alexander.
He was talking about the fact we tend to put too much emphasis on development coaches, when the responsibility needs to sit more with the players.
The development coaches are useful, and can help teach technique and skills….. but for the players to get better and improve, they actually need to be doing extra sessions before and after training.
This comes down to attitude. Which can’t be taught. And effectively it all comes back to drafting kids with the right attitude.
What’s his background in AFL development that makes him an expert judge on what does or doesn’t make an AFL player.
I enjoy the opinions of these guys, but if he’s making claims about what is or isn’t required at a developmental level, he’s jumping a bit above his expertise unless there’s something in his background l’m unaware of.
Agreed.
But I would say it also comes down to senior players and the development coaches holding them accountable and being demanding.
Does he need to be an expert to have an opinion on something?
