That Sir is completely synthetic. Haha. Came with the house. It is a good quality one so it does look pretty good. Can’t say the rain is doing it any good other than getting it wet. Trees and plants enjoyed it though.
Looks real enough. Do you have a dog ? Does it get hot on a sunny day ?
I looked at synthetic but it was expensive and I was assured Sir Walter turf would be fine. I kept the dogs off it for three months and when it started to die off was told I was overwatering. So cut back on that and it has died away in large patchs.
Maybe just pave the lot, or build another garage.
Pave it, paint it green. You’re welcome.
No, don’t have a dog. It does get warm on a hot day but nothing you can handle barefoot. The silver birches along the back keep it fairly shaded. We have a small patch in the front yard too. It was an ex display home so had no say in what was there. Some fake turfs are pretty poor. I likened some to the green stuff you get in a sushi pack. This is really good. Some of the local wild rabbits are often out the front chewing on it. Must be good!
Opposite the house where I grew up in Ivanhoe there was a very similar house with a back yard where they had done exactly that. Or not exactly, actually; they’d laid green concrete so they never had to repaint. The man who did it dropped dead on the bus on the way home from work one day, but I doubt that the concrete garden had anything to do with that.
Snow on the hills predicted for Friday. Wtf?
With the humidity today and next few days, I will welcome snow on the hills.
Solid drop.
It was here, then it left just as quick. Enough to wet the road and make it slippery but not much else.
Wha?
You’re not far from me (I think… outer east) and we’ve had three fifths of FA. A couple of thunderclaps in the last few minutes, but that’s about it.
Edit… OK, here she comes. Best described as “moderate rain”.
Absolutely bucketing here. I can see a road river. Storm is intense.
School pickup time - check
Absolute downpour in the northern suburbs
Heaps of rain on the roads in coburg
Copped it good for about 30 minutes in Coburg around 8:00. Sas putting the kids to bed, ran out to put the plants in the rain to get a good hit
Then it stopped
Nice fat band of rain just came through Geelong headed towards Melbourne.
Nothing bayside. It’s like the Gold Coast down here.
Give it an hour or so. Mrs Hambo was out horse riding, looks like a drowned rat.
Not a drop since at least 6 am in the east.
Keeps coming up black then… phut…
Blue sky’s overhead. Looks miserable north west of here
