The forecast for Beech Forest is 6-15 mm, but I haven’t seen any yet.
We were predicted 10-25mm, but we got through the cricket OK. Had a short sharp shower about 20 minutes ago.
Was 38 earlier today but just had a heavy burst of rain but unfortunately only very brief
Things have changed at Beech Forest. It’s been raining solidly for a good hour, and the radar says there’s a lot more on to come.
We have some good rainfalls this year in NE Tasmania, everything is still green, loved the wet year so far, more rain coming
A lovely, earth-soaking 40mm in Portland overnight.
We only ended at 32mm. Very heavy after midnight.
I can’t find a site that gives true rainfall at Beech Forest. The BOM publishes readings for Beech Forest, but they’re actually taken at Mt Gellibrand, which is some distance away. Mt Gellibrand had 15.2 mm overnight, but here it rained hard all night from about 8 pm through to 6 am, and the amount must have been at least 30 mm I would say. It’s a very wintry day here although not freezing cold.
I guess I should get myself a rain gauge.
Rain woke me up last night/this morning. I don’t know what time it was but it was loud.
bucketing here in inner east
and where’s the ##$$IN summer !!??!!!
edit: HAILING NOW
Yep, hailing in Richmond.
Absolutely nothing in the overcast inner North.
Rain then hail then sunshine in the space of ten minutes inner west. Off for a bike ride now, fingers crossed.
Raining here! Pretty sure the lightning hit right next to the house. Thunder & lightning almost simultaneously and as loud as I’ve ever heard - leapt 3 feet out of the chair. We are not complaining as we really need the rain.
We had lots till about midday. Bugger all since.
Nothing in Brunswick
What about now? Another decent downpour.
Nope, still nothing
Spoke too soon, sunshine and a little rain.
Edit: it’s over now.
Would have been lucky to last a minute.
Bright sunshine now
