AFL - Terrible Ideas, Too Many Ideas, No Idea…

You’d hate to see a grand final decided by one of these… unless Essendon wins because of it… or Collingwood loses because of it… or Carlton loses because of it… come to think of it you’d love to see a grand final decided by one of these.

What’s Dustin Martin going to do?!

Wtf are they meant to do just let the player run off with the ball? I did always hate getting tackled from behind when playing footy, use to kill the knees, but still.

I think the tackle one is just incredibly badly written, but it getting through with that wording is their typical level of quality control.

I reckon it’s deliberately vague to manufacture outrage

Spot on

Ummm aren’t these AFLW rules?

Like the WWE, they actually think that works in the long term.

And they’re wrong.

Only one specifically refers to AFLW, which is regarding team rankings within finals after the Qualifying Finals are played. The rest are applicable to the AFL (and I would assume AFLW as well).

this game is ■■■■■■

Genuinely thought that was a ■■■■ take. Fk me. The straight arm ruck fend off okay, but no one else can or risk suspension. Sheesh.

Whistling lol

Some serious job justification capabilities at AFL HQ

It gets better. The AFL sent out an example video of what they’re trying to stop (follow the link below)… and it’s NOT a tackle “from behind”.

I’d say you can’t make this ■■■■ up… but the AwFuL are very special.

At the time the Tribunal told the MRO to go away and stop wasting their time.

The ump also paid a free to the tackler.

Another twist… the media release is apparently NOT talking about tackles from behind. Go figure.

I think all the foregoing can be dealt with efficiently by saying: “Fark the AFL.”

Or at least their fatcat executives who have nothing better to do than dream up crap like this while swilling their charddonnays.

Does seem that Laura has got to work. On destroying the game that is. Just knew she would go down this path. She won’t see out the season and good riddance when it happens.

I’m really feel for the whistle. Why doesn’t the AFL like people whistling from the interchange bench. Does a player whistling his or her favourite song offend the umpires power levels?

There’s been plenty of times I wanted force a co-worker’s head into the turf for excessive whistling

It’s the whistling on the bench that’s got you angry, right?

No it’s the way she spoke on the interview circuit she did after being appointed. Was not impressed in any way. To me she seemed way over her head and I’ll bet that it will come through in her performance.

Before anyone suggests it my view is not because she is female. It’s because I don’t believe she will be good for football.

She is Sonia Hood but in the most influential position in the AFL. Surprise surprise she was in the selection committee that appointed Hood as CEO at North and was credited with influencing the appointment.
