AFL - Terrible Ideas, Too Many Ideas, No Idea…

Lets see what happens if they spent a few years out of finals contention

I think the theatre goer element actually helps coz they don’t care about the result as much, they’re just there for the event. Like people that go to the horse racing.

The big challenge for the swans is turning their massive percentage of theatre goer fans into genuine rusted on ones, that watch them on tv, buy all the merchandise, get their kids to play footy, follow them online etc etc

I have a mate in Sydney who is a SCG member, so I usually head up to Sydney once a year to watch Essendon be flogged by the Swans. Like death and taxes.
Given that the Swans have been in Sydney 40 or so years, I never ceased to be amazed that their match day supporters mostly still have NFI about any aspect of the game.

The original clueless mob taught the following generations all they knew.

Why do the scarves their supporters wear always look like they’ve been bought that day?

That’s why the AwFL gets the maggots to help them out so much, and for so long.

Remember the most obvious example of that? When Rampe climbed the goal post but the fkg maggots did absolutely nothing about it.

Then Gil praised them for being “sensible” instead of enforcing the actual rules of the game.

Sydneys a big international city. Theres a lot of transient residents.

People come from all over world to live here.

So Sydney always has plenty of fresh supporters

Yeah…who embrace Aussie Rules as soon as they walk through the immigration gates.

Spectate and wonder what it is?

Yes.

They also attract a keen bandwagon from traditional cricket and rugby fans who hold an SCC membership.

Id put Sydney supporters in a similar bucket to Melbourne fans.

If the swans arent going well they are instead off too watch the Waratahs or go to the Snow.

Stereotypes that is. Plenty who aren’t. One of the biggest swans fans I know lives in Melbourne.

Probably easier just to get rid of all the indigenous kids, and now the racial diversity is just mega. Kako, SEH and a Nguyen.

Fox news just saying Gill the dill has been given life membership. Smarmy looking bastid

Seems Connors keeps doing the same thing:

CSM gets to donate a $7, 500 fine to a charity of its choosing. It would then get a tax deduction for a charitable donation.

Connors would not give two farks.

It’s going to be annoying having an out of whack ladder ALL season.

If only that could’ve been avoided…

No Saturday night games on FTA is possibly the deathknell of footy on FTA platforms.

Are you saying he has brewer’s droop/is impotent?

Not sure if people are interested in this, but Goyder is a cockroach, you just can’t get rid of the bloke. Qantas finally did, but Woodside still haven’t, every board he chairs the shareholders want him gone.

Surely he’s embarrassed seeing the hours and effort that v’landy’s over at the nrl puts in, when he himself can’t even be bothered showing up to grand finals previously.

A change in chairman to someone with some ambition and profile might actually help the bland and almost mechanical Dillon.
