They do less than nothing for grass roots football.
They had alienated many long-term Essendon supporters by stitching us up with the Saga.
Now they have sold out to a foreign streaming company, there is reduced FTA football coverage, especially on Saturdays. As an interstate supporter, I have only been able to watch one EFC game so far this year. So they will be losing interest from people who can’t afford or do not want to pay foreign companies for streaming.
Their continual rules changes have made the game much less exciting and much less of a spectacle than it has ever been.
The MRP and Tribunal is capricious at best. The maggots are instructed to “give us the results we need”. Everything is filetered through their lens for the best “optics”.
They have rusted on support, especially of those Vic clubs they pander to, and they curry favour trying to push the game in NSW and QLD. How much longer can they persist with this corrupted game?

This changing team names to indigenous names in this round ok, do it… but when the AFL/journos release further articles etc and force us to work out which team they are actually talking about as they try to be clever (i guess) by not using the actual team name, give it a rest. FFS, its Port Power, so if you have an article about them, its Port.

It’s amazing they can’t fix these ridiculous suspensions during the year. As Jimmy Bartel said, the movements at AFL hq under Dillon have been glacial, which matches the commission under Goyder, that blokes even worse he moves at a snail’s pace.
13000 at Marvel today to watch GC beat Saints. Both should fold, or perhaps not play a game at 4:40 pm on Sunday.

4:40pm on a Sunday is the best TV time slot but the worst to attend.

1pm games kill off your entire day
I’m talking more in general, not just Essington.
Essington is a downer irrespective of the timeslot - even if you aren’t swayed by the result, you end up having to pay for two and a bit hours of skill level you can see for free at local level.
