Fly’s in the face of jackets “demographic” at 28. He’s an elite footballer, but like Alex.f.94 said, 2 first rounders is mental.
He’d cost too much for the minimum years we’d get from him.
Plus, it’d be easier for carlton to do the trade with Gibbs a part of it.

Cornes is saying that as long as he is offered a mega deal then Sloane would leave to come home to Vic but doesn’t expect it this year.
Why not this year?
Crows if they finish top 2 in 2018 would only get pick 18 or 19 as compo.
If he seems a definite to go they have to trade him now ahead of time to get far better value than the compo pick.
Gibbs coming in will mean they lose next to nothing in midfield output.

It would make sense for Sloane if he’s thinking about leaving to do it this year. Next year he’ll be 28 turning 29. This would be the last year for him to get a big money deal you’d think.
The grand final loss will have thrown a spanner in works though for sure for both Crows and Sloane.
However as an example
If they lost Lever to Dees, got Gibbs from Blues and landed something like pick 11 & Francis from us it could be seen as a good result for them replacing those two players.
We need to somehow get their 17 back to use for Stringer.
Would solve the “Should we tag Sloane” debate.
