I thought Paige Scott extended 2 years in 2023? Would that not take her to 2025 too?

Contract extension for Adams, Alexander and Bannister

Adams showed herself to be a versatile gun in the VFLW games. Forward, mid, or back… and was beating much bigger players as a defender.

I wasn’t seeing the faults that people had documented for her to slip in the draft.

Ah I’ve realised where the miscount came from (for me at least). I’d had Brooker in my head as an injury replacement but she wasn’t. So 6 cuts = the 3 list spots we needed for our additions. Still surprised we’ve only brought in 3 (I guess we might still bring in someone in place of Murphy now?)

Given we didn’t get asked to PASS at pick 51 she is still on the list, and I assume the cutting window has closed.

Keaney to sit out 2026 post-bub. Would need a contract extension after that to return.

Opens up a slot for 2026, with the Oldies Draft held in May (two weeks before the start of the VFLW season, but well into the SANFLW etc seasons).

Expected Pre-Season Draft order:
As of March 24

  1. Gold Coast (list spot held over from primary draft)
  2. Greater Western Sydney (retirement of Katherine Smith)
  3. Essendon (Bess Keaney inactive)
  4. West Coast (retirement of Sophie McDonald)
  5. Hawthorn (list spot held over from primary draft)
