The disconnect within our club and the lack of votes for an AGM does not come as a shock to me, and I don’t know if the club care.
The result should send a clear message to the current board about how stranded members and supporters feel about the state of the club. Dave spoke well tonight, I also thought JM gave some insight/struggles/conflictions which I can see were issues with the 2022 setup. Hopefully what JM said and along with Scott, we are on a path of development and unity.
I didn’t know you from MattP but I thought you had good question but I recall the network of our community programs were heavily impacted/slashed due to COVID perhaps staff/volunteers have not been replaced in these programs.
After tonight I think our new brand needs a professional, well spoken and motivated player to lead our club Peter wright for captain and Vice captain Redman supporting him.
round our leadership group with Mcgrath and Merrett
I would have thought the recent resignations were a good opportunity to reduce the size of our board. Board composition, unless I’m mistaken, made up one of the terms of reference in the external review but nothing has been said by the club about it.
My personal opinion is that 10 board members is too many. Many will disagree with me though.
The best way to sell your product, is to add meaningful value to peoples lives. We shouldn’t be getting into schools to build our membership sales (as the core goal)…… but to make a meaningful ongoing impact on children’s lives. That is how you build a legacy, not quick income.
It’s how you build income, too. Providing something meaningful will generally be better received and more likely to generate a better financial return.
Do you mean McGuire? Because collingwood had one of the most undemocratic board structures under him, so his reasoning for thinking it ideal may not be as member friendly as we hope.
I do agree with bomberedout that it being part of the terms of reference we should have been told something about the findings there.
