By all accounts super talented. Had 2 ACL’s as a kid, otherwise would have been in the number 1 pick discussion (according to the experts at the time).
Seems to be stuck behind everyone at GWS - is there spot for him here or is he too Stringer / Laverde like?
Hately and Caldwell have already seemed to have gone past him. GWS used the pick that they got from the Devon Smith trade on him. Only fair they send him to us cheap.
I think he would replace a langford/myers type. From a stats point of view he has been pretty inconsistent in the NEAFL this season, whether that is because of different roles or form, i don’t know.
Has he actually got elite skills or is it mostly hardness and tackling that makes him good?
Born to a Scottish father and Papua New Guinean mother, Aiden Bonar became a GIANT with the club’s first pick at the 2017 NAB AFL Draft (pick 11). Bonar is a powerfully built, versatile tall who excels at stoppages and has a burst of speed away from congestion. Bonar made an impressive debut in his first season in 2018, kicking five goals in his four games, and also earned NEAFL Team of the Year honours.
