Come on mate, you can see how that, along with the homophobic teachings would be in contrast to promoting an inclusive, safe environment.
I was defending his right to have his faith external to the club until I heard some of the comments.

I’m putting the homosexual stuff to one side.
Because many have specifically referred to the abortion stuff as being not aligned with our values.
So I’d like to focus on that.
How exactly is the church’s values on abortion not aligned with Essendon’s?
What are our abortion values?
I’m not going to be having this conversation. I also vote to shut the thread down.
yeah you are probably right but he didnt say respect the views of homophobes nor would he. “People should be able to hold different views on complex personal and moral matters, and be able to live and work together, even with those differences, and always with respect.”
Because it easy to say things like “not aligned with our values” but easy to run when someone asks “hey, what are our values”
i dont agree that sexuality is a complex moral matter.
So you think a pastor comparing abortion to the holocaust is consistent with an inclusive, safe environment?
Come on, mate.
You keep doing everything to avoid the question.
What are our values on abortion?
Yeah but his comments were in response to reports on his church’s views on homosexuality so as a CEO of a football club you’ve got to condemn homophobia unequivocally regardless of personal views.
This goes to the underlying issue that he was unable to wear the two hats of his roles.
I’ll tell you. If a woman who works for EFC or supports EFC, or Fark Carlton, or even Collingwood, chooses to exercise her autonomy over her own body there won’t be a bloke who fronts an untaxed cult that condemns her to hell running our football club. Those are EFC’s ‘abortion values’. Go to bed
Brad and Jackie screaming at ■■■■■
Again, not getting into this with you.
If you can’t see how the comments are in contrast to our values, that’s your issue.
I will bite.
The only value should be pro - choice, meaning all women have the right to choose. The only male role is to give 100% support to that choice.
EFC as a club should 100% support that position for all people.
Have to wonder if AFLW were going to boycott games.
Sorry, I didn’t quite hear you
Choose in collaboration with their male partner. In a loving relationship, both parties have a right to express their choice.
@barnz I’d say there was strong backlash from the womens team and that fed into the decision yesterday
You should be on the US Supreme Court
