Another Mass Shooting, (Just Another Day) in America

In football terms:

The evidence is as convincing as Brad Scott saying defence is the priority over preason.

Victim
While his family will mourn his loss, he was CEO of a company that brought much despair and death through rejection of claims etc.

I would’ve said practically having a confession, the murder weapon, fake IDs used around the time and fingerprints/DNA from the scene make it pretty compelling.

But agree on the hatred of the health industry fuelling people’s thoughts of vengeance and setting him up as an anti-hero.

Mangione should change his name legally to Trump to avoid meaningful justice.

Jury nullification is a real outcome

The fact that the entire (and I mean entire) discussion on this case has been purely about health care and hasn’t mentioned gun control at all just tells where things are.

Even when the victim is clearly a white collar corporate Republican.

Guarantee a lot more people know someone who’s died of a denied available medical treatment than gun violence.

The motive in this instance was crystal clear.

If more CEO’s start getting Minecrafted the conversation will certainly shift that way.

Couldn’t he just have heckled the CEO at the AGM or similar?

History has shown that has been so effective in reigning in rapacious capitalist behaviours

Yeah, and at the hands of his company, to boot.

Oh please magat, change it to the name of any Trump friend or insurrectionist then, such a trolling comment to enter the chat, all US politicians are complete disgraces and we all know where the slope started

Righteous indignation is very effective these days- look at how many corporate values statements we get. It has the benefit over assassination that people don’t get killed, lose a child/parent etc.

Jesus was really The Mucho man Randy savage.

Not really sure how my comment is ‘trolling’ when Hunter was literally pardoned for a gun offence —something that would have landed most people in serious legal trouble. The point wasn’t about defending Trump or his friends, but highlighting the double standards in how justice is applied depending on who you are.

Was he pardoned for a gun offense, though?

Pardoned for all offence offences and anything else in a period of time, which included the alleged deals in Ukraine.

Gun offences were really minor though, mostly about failing to disclose his drug issues on the permit form.

The gun was disposed of in a trash can by his then partner
He pleaded guilty to tax evasion. He had not been sentenced, so avoids a possible prison sentence and/or fine.
IIRC some FBI officer has been found guilty of perjury in regard to allegations that he and his father had been involved in Ukraine kick backs.
