I remember running into (almost) Alec Epis about 10 years ago. I’d been lunching at Pellegrinis with a former colleague and crossing Exhibition St at Little Collins when I saw Alec stopping at the lights in his Merc. Just stopped for a “g’day, I remember you”. He was happy to be recognised.
Alec opposed everything and everybody. He went up against Ron Evans when we moved to the MCG in ‘92. All but accused Ron of doing it to improve his Spotless interests.
