My biggest problem with the movie was that the whole 3rd act with the court case/hearing thing bored me. I get that it was a character study of sorts but I really just didnt care about any of the political bs between oppenheimer and RDJ.
I also wanted to be horrified by what the atomic bomb could do and I felt like the movie pulled its punches a bit too much on the dropping of the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Saw equalizer 3 tonight, thought it was good, was about to be my favourite of the 3 except for
I thought the last action scene was very very weak.if it had a similar action set piece like 1 or even the second movie it would of gone from good to great
Dakota fanning and denzel have such fantastic chemistry together. Nothing will ever beat man on fire, but I would love to see them both in more movies together.
Really liked the storyline in this one. It’s simple but done very well
I thought the acting was okay.
I thought Jason Clarke was best in show by a long way. At least he stirred some emotion from me. I cared what might happen to him, although I confess what I was hoping for was that he might be accidentally run over.
Yeah The Equaliser is one of the better types of these movies. Instead of the usual sparse dialogue and one liners the protagonist has they give Denzal full on monologues and he sells it like he’s reading shakespeare.
Knew little or nothing about the guy so found his personal story very enlightening.
Assume most viewers would have (at least) a basic understanding of the context and what was going on “outside”. Didn’t really feel the film needed to go there.
Yes, genuine criticism. Would have been interesting to flesh this out in more detail. It sort of came and went in a blink. The character concerned was gone before there was any sense of who he was.
The Manhattan series had a hell of a lot more about the spying…Fuchs and another dude.
I had no problems with the tenor of the movie…I dreaded it just being about the creation of the bomb, because the spying, the McCarthyism and Oppenheimer’s personal life were so much more significant.
Jason Clarke’s character was just so terrible and indicative of the Kafkaesque methods, which are still being used with Witness K, Bernard Collaery and David McBride. David Dunbar might be another held on ridiculaous US-inspired charges.
