I’m not sold on it, trailer didn’t grab me (i never saw the show)

I was going to watch The Bride- trailer looked great. But the reviews have been pretty poor, so i might find it …another way

I will admit to not be a fan of them/they but that’s purely from a language perspective.

Them/they always used to just refer to two or more people…it annoys me that a single person can be referred to as them/they.

But that’s pretty minor in the grand scheme of things so I don’t lose any sleep over it.

I would be interested in hearing how you perceive that progressive culture is destroying society though.

They do not

The only people who ever bang on about it are those who are so riles up about not doing it.

Please, leave the rest of us in peace.

Haha

That’s highly debateable. It’s everywhere now, from entertainment to social media

Hows it impacted your life?

I have done stints in live music, hospo, and govt work.

I have had to adjust once.

I haven’t had the experience you describe.

I didn’t say it had. But i like it when a comedy isn’t “safe” and doesn’t care about who they offend

Entertainment is so worried about offending people that comedies have become very watered down

That’s the problem you just don’t know who you might offend these days

I watched StepBrothers last night again and literally laughed out loud

Its fair to not care about who you offend. The jokes just been done to death and not really funny anyway.

There are clues.

people will be offended by anything if they want to find something to be offended about

movies really haven’t poked fun of the whole they/them, or people identifying as cats etc

POW!

You can make ■■■■■ vagina fart jokes and ok

Because it’s really not that funny.

And it’s the same joke, just about a different matter.

This person has x characteristic. It makes them different. Let’s mock them for it.

Its probably the lowest sort of humour just blatantly mocking people.

I saw an independent play, and one character got hit in the nuts and yelled, ‘Aargh, my they/thems!’

Thought it was hilarious.
Which imo shows you can do a lowbrow joke without punching down on the topic.
