Facts.
Watch all of Andor then watch this. It makes a lot more sense. The only problem is, even though Rogue One is far superior to any of the main Star Wars sequels/prequels, it now feels a bit cartoonish next to Andor.
I’ve barely watched any films in the past 24 months but through some flying and downtime I’ve managed a few.
- One Battle After Another - 9.5/10 - I feel like you either love or hate this movie, I certainly loved it. Loved how offbeat it was, the pacing, the visuals, soundtrack, etc, but most of all the characters. Two of the best supporting character roles I can remember. De Toro impacts the movie so much in so little screen time. I feel like it puts certain people off as they perceive it as woke (given the protagonists are leftist anarchists) but I feel like it pokes as much fun at them as the fascists.
- Housemaid - 6.5/10 - I knew nothing about it which was good but the “twist” was so obvious very early in the movie which took away from it. Kind of like a Gone Girl from Temu. On the plus side, Amanda Seifried was awesome, the dude was very good … Sydney Sweeney … “wooden” is generous.
- Rental Family - 8.5/10 - I knew I’d appreciate this if not just for the “fish out of water” style representation of Japan (lost in translation is my favourite move ever), but it really did pack a lot with some pretty interesting themes. Brendan Fraser is awesome - manages to come across as so genuine. Some great cameos from some Tokyo neigbourhoods I know well.
Have done, and it is really the best thing they’ve put out. Certainly on the small screen.
My main issue was I’d never sat down to try and understand the reasoning, and followed some of the dialogue as close.
And I don’t like those Hollywood esque moments that set up the final battle.
Can you imagine having all the leading rebellion generals and key stakeholders in a room debating if they should attack the death star. But, you als have all the hangers on in the room chiming in at every opportunity.
I know, it’s Star Wars, it’s Disney, there’s gonna be plot holes…
…and the final 30 minutes really makes up for it all.
No one is going back for Solo, or the prequels,or the sequels. Rogue One is really the only one that stacks up.
I loved rental family. Probably the best movie I saw last year
And it’s just come out on Disney plus ,so I’m can watch it again this weekend
+1 for Rental Family
8/10
Great acting by Fraser. Visually, it’s also a great use of the diverse, unique, Japanese cityscapes, fashion and daily life. The storyline is pretty interesting, and takes you on a couple of emotional journeys. Whilst it’s not really anything like it, it felt similar to Love Actually, in that every character was searching for something.
Definitely worth a look.
I would.
Jojo Rabbit - I’d watched it previously, and thought it was pretty decent. Second time around, it just doesn’t seem to work. Credit to them for trying the ‘invisible friend, Hitler’ it’s an interesting way to tell a story.
Meh
5/10
I saw it on a cruise in 2020.
The epitome of Overrated Movies
Bad day for paramount/nickelodeon, someone leaked the avatar movie due to drop in october
Holy ■■■■ I couldn’t have had a more contrasting experience, but that’s fine, that’s moviezzz. One of the most tedious and silly pieces of ■■■■ I’ve ever wasted money on, including EFC games at Marvel. If it was a kids film, sure, but it wasn’t a kids film. Or was it? I honestly don’t know, or care. Gosling isn’t funny, and he reminds me of a chimp.
Just watched Michael.
Jaafar Jackson take a bow a son he was amazing you legit forget that it’s him and you are just watching MJ
Don’t know why the critics are review bombing the movie I thought it was fantastic if your a fan of his music you will love it or
If your expecting the movie to deep dive into the allegations etc you will be disappointed and will hate this film
A Batman villain horror movie…..I’m in!!
They’re bombing it because it’s a standard Hollywood pop star biopic, and not a searing, lacerating examination of his (unproven) sexual horribleness.
Pretty much.
MJ was acquitted from his charges wasn’t he? FBI couldn’t find any evidence when they raided Neverland. I think the parents of Chandler wanted to extort money from Jackson so they made up a BS story imo.
Yes he was acquitted. No comment on the rest of it.
What is your general view on adult men sharing their bed(s) with young boys?
Totally against it but how can you prove it in MJ’s case we will never know
The answer is potentially in his lyrics.
he fought back against those who controlled the music industry and they destroyed him.
maybe he was protecting the kids from Epstein and the like.
who had a worse childhood.
McCauley Caulkin or Beiber?
was MJ in the Epstein files?
