Yup. It’s right up there with Blade Runner if you ask me. Very heavily influenced by blade runner thematically and stylistically, but refreshed and modernised to suit it’s time.
Haven’t seen this movies in years
Great independent film from 1999 about a rebellious kid who finds his parents gun and rob a bank with his girlfriend
Was able to watch this on YouTube don’t think any of the popular streaming services ls have this film
The new suicide squad is pretty entertaining in parts but not the great movie that everyone is raving about imo. Bit too long and was missing a good villain
Polkadot man is the best part of the movie.
Watched it last night.
Hard to fault it, but I have a small healthy obsession with HQ.
Could have done with a bat cameo.
l wouldn’t be expecting greatness from that genre.
Downloading Suicide Squad right now
Not wanting to sound smug but I’ve just booked tix to go see “Chopper” at a cinema in Perth. It’s part of a promotion to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its original theatrical release. I was o/s when it first came out but LOVE it. I think it’s showing in most capital cities but obviously C19 will pi55 on that in some parts.
Watched Tenet yesterday, did not understand what was going on.
I googled it and found a satisfactory explanation. May have to watch it again, now I have a little bit of understanding.
Watched a movie on Netflix called The Saphires. About a group of aboriginal girls who go to sing over in Vietnam. Really enjoyed it, much better than I was expecting. Some nice heartfelt moments and some funny moments too
My tip is yes, watch it again, but with subtitles. It made a world of difference and actually comprehensible.
Hot take, 2001 A Space Odyssey is just a glorified 3hr music video for the Blue Danube Waltz, by Johann Strauss.
Well got to half time in the train wreck of a football game last night and decided to watch VAL on prime, the story of Val Kilmer as told by himself, real footage as he has 1000’s of hours of self shot footage, and mostly narrated by his son due to hardly being able to speak anymore.
Well it seems I went from one train wreck to another, I didn’t realise how much he had deteriorated, I only managed half of the doco, but was interesting seeing his younger self and lots of familiar actors Bacon Penn Cruise etc.
Will be watching the last half sometime today, quite a good insight into someone who is quite maligned in the media spotlight.
One of the most talented Australians working in Hollywood passed away this week. Pretty much nobody knows his name, but odds are you know his work. He coordinated most of the best fight scenes in recent years.
Beckett (2021)
New on Netflix
Watched it…cannot remember watching such a poor movie…took forever to get going and just made little sense (even when the plot became clearer)
This is not worth watching at all.
If you decide to try it, it’s your own fault
Yeah, was pretty average, and had a jump the shark moment at the end. Overall just a typical netflix made content filler movie.
Yes…that was a real WTF moment.
Easily the worst Netflix movie I’ve watched.
For a moment l was hoping it was a remake of the 1964 version of Becket with Peter O’Toole and Richard Burton. Curses, foiled again.
Trust me CJ…it’s a long way from that
I don’t know why, but I just can’t get into Spider-Man.
He’s my least favourite.
Is that weird?
That’s weird, isn’t it.
