At the movies - From the couch

Because Forest Whitaker is so handsome? Or Bens Kingsley?

I remember seeing it when it just came onto video with my Dad, at one point he goes “i’ve heard of AIDs, but this is ridiculous.”

I don’t mind it Michael Bays’ best movie imo

Bruce Willis makes it watchable if it weren’t for him the movie would be complete cacca

When he sacrifices himself to save the world is the best part of the movie.

I love Armageddon. Just a pure popcorn action film. Good action scenes, plenty of funny scenes and a awesome background score

Michael bays best movie for mine is The Rock.

Michael Bay has made one and only one good film. The Rock. The rest deserves the fire pits of hell. Which incidentally is probably the title to his next $100b dumpster fire.

I’m with @saladin . I saw it at the movies when it came out, making the mistake of paying too much attention to some reviews. Absolute rubbish from beginning to end, with the lowlight being the self-sacrifice scene.

Michael Bay doesn’t have a good movie, they are just bloated headache inducing messes. The Rock is the most tolerable, but I think that’s more due to Cage, Connery and Harris dragging it into watchable territory, but i’m not sure I could sit through it again voluntarily.

I agree I don’t think it’s a very good movie but it’s one that I can sit back and laugh at how ridiculous and over the top it is :joy:

Chris Hadfields review of Armageddon is quite funny skip to 7:59

Michael bay is a genius and I will hear no bad word against him

Had a solid cast too Ben Aflick,Steve Busecmi ,Owen Willson,Liv Tyler,Billy Bob etc

Yea I was going to download on Foxtel but can’t justify the $30

Lol the actor that plays the Russian ALWAYS plays really weird characters in any movie he’s in

Michael bay is also responsible for my favourite car chase scene of all time. Freeway chase in Bad boys 2, just pure chaos

I must say that I enjoyed 13 Hours by Michael Bay

That’s a really interesting video. Thank you. I’m glad that he thinks 2001 was impressive. The scene he shows where the shuttle ship docks with the huge space station is unforgettable.

I’m halfway through that Werewolf in the cabin movie on Netflix or whatever it is.
It’s fascinating.
It’s undeniably bad, but…
Playing ‘who was this role actually made for…’
The pixie dream girl trope is so on the nose that it’s funny, but I don’t know if that’s intentional.
I want it to be from a young director who will get better.
Again, bad but fascinating.

Edit: Maybe it’s a great script that’s been butchered?

It’s called Werewolves Within.
Not one you’d watch again, but…
I dunno, there’s something about it.

Starring, kind of obviously, Not

Kevin Hart
Sarah Silverman
Jack Black
Frances McDormand
Michael Keaton
Kirsten Wiig (and this one is blatant)
Pixie Dream Girl of your choice: Zooey if you like.
Aquaman

" In a clip from the DVD commentary track going viral on Twitter, Affleck recalls that he asked Bay, “Why is it easier to train oil drillers to become astronauts than to train astronauts to become oil drillers?
He told me to shut the f— up.”

:joy: :joy:

I actually didn’t think of that haha

I imagine it’s all pain for little gain.
