At the movies

Ok - it is ■■■■■■■ AWESOME!

Just came back from Deadpool.
■■■■ it’s good. Has all the elements you wished were there. I’m not going to bother going through it. Go see it - stay till end of credits

9.1/10

2nd best after-credits scene of all time

Watched Legend on the plane, with Tom Hardy playing the Kray Twins. Really enjoyed it, reckon Hardy was very very good at changing the two roles. Not sure how much of it was factual or fanciful, but really good show.

Also watched San Andreas on the way home, easily the worst most cliched movie I think I have ever seen. The Rock should be ashamed of himself.

Why? He made a lot of money.

PS yes it was crap and cliched, one of the worst

The only redeeming feature in the movie was his daughter, can’t act to save herself but very good looking.

Actually its one of those movies that I’m annoyed I watched. Not that I had anything better to do on a plane, but Im ANNOYED that I spent time on it.

Shes the girl from True Detective 1st season. She’s better in that.

Best mother/daughter combo ever in a movie, with Carla Gugino and Alexandra Daddario.

Couldn’t work out who the guy was who played a pom, and spent time with the daughter. He’s the copper in the Miss Fisher Mysteries, set in Melbourne in the 20s.

Daddario is unbelievable in her brief appearance in true detective season 1.

Being a Deadpool fan from way back (since his first comic book appearance) I was disappointed in his "cameo" in Wolverine. This was rectified in Deadpool.

I went in with high expectations last night and the movie went above and beyond those. From his wise cracks to the blood and violence, the movie was done brilliantly. If people go in with an open mind and just embrace the fact that it isn’t a superhero movie, then it will come out as one of the best Marvel movies IMO.

Ryan Reynolds made deadpool. If they do a sequel and he isn’t Deadpool then they can GGF.

Also to the parents of the two 5 and 10 year old boys sitting next to my wife and I: WTF are you doing taking them to an MA15+ movie… you should be ashamed of yourself.

Hear farkin hear.
I have become one of those crusty old men that go and complain to theater staff after every movie on this issue. WTF are they there for?? I don’t want to be sitting around kids watching people taking it up the ■■■■ or having their eyes punctured with stilettos ffs.

Its the teenage staff they have on checking tickets that are too afraid to do the following:

  • Ask about the childs age
  • inform the people that they cannot proceed to the movie if the children dont meet the age requirements
  • If that fails, call for management (who generally are not that much older)

At fountain gate there was 1 person checking who was probably 15 and she looked out of her depth as there was a cue going a mile long.

Well Deadpool is MA15+ here so kids can be in there accompanied by a parent/guardian so it’s not like the cinema is gonna go “you shouldn’t be letting your kids watch this” and costing themselves money now are they?

MA is restricted isn’t it? M is just recommended.

I don’t care

and by better you mean she was more naked and ■■■■ out in TD :p

Exactly!!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with 10+ going to MA15+ if accompanied by a guardian and their parents have used their discretion and know that they are OK with what’s in the movie.

If that kid was 5 though that’s fkn stupid

If that kid was 5 though that's fkn stupid

Could you make an adjudication on 7.5 please?

you were watching deadpool, why not take a leaf out of his book and be disturbing towards the parents.
I was going to list some examples, but it’d prolly get me suspended at the bare minimum.

Do it

Deadpool was very good. Just loved the one liners and the CGI was brilliant.

Had some spare time this morning so went to see dead pool. Fell asleep half way through.

Not because it was boring but because I was up all night. I asked the girl if I could get half my money back. she was very polite n telling me to ■■■■ off.

For a moment I though you were going to tell us about the girl who kept you up all night. She can’t have been that good if you wanted half of your money back.

We have those $11 movie ticket thingies Hoyts give away when they run out of decent movies, so went went again tonight.
‘Risen’ was the best of a bad lot remaining to us.
Missus liked it a lot. I thought it was ‘ok’. Bit of a different look at the whole Christ has Risen theme. No standouts, but ‘ok’.

5.8/10

Finally got around to watching Sicario. What a film.

Deadpool. Can’t stand most super hero movies. As is quite well explained through the movie, this is no super hero movie! It’s so rare that a film lives up to the hype but this one does. Full of comedic moments. 8.5/10

Watch Specter last night. I didn’t mind it at all. Thought it was on par with Skyfall but just behind Casino Royale

Thought it was behind Skyfall myself. Too OTT for my tastes, plus too many plot holes.
