Australian Policies -- 2026, and we have no Shadow Cabinet

Queenslanders want anything but Labor, Tez. We can agree on that.

2pp is comingh up as 54 46 but the one nation problem is there and just as much a problem for them

The bleeding of the right and far right to ON is a far bigger problem for LNP than it is for labor. It pushes the conservative parties too far to the right and leaves the center is wide open space for labor, This is exactly why labor doesnt dance too much with the greens so they can stay closer to the middle ,

Can you imagine if the Bombers start winning, I will be shouting from the rooftops Swoods

Crisafulli is miles in front of Miles up here it’s not worth debating. Labor up here are as much a non entity as Liberals are in Victoria. Just calling it as it is.

And that would be about the way things stand atm.:+1:

At a state level, sure. I’d say that is a fair assessment of the current state of play looking at polls.
At a federal level - ALP gained 7 seats in QLD last election. Five of those were from the LNP.

Which kind of emphasizes the need not to mistake the two…

Elections are about 2PP preferred Tez. If an election were held today it’s be a landslide I reckon. It wouldn’t be close.

There’s no doubt the ON situation is eating more into the Libs than Labor. At present it’s confusing the landscape significantly. Nationwide.

Looking through the fog though, there’s no visible mood for change in government. Labor is seemingly further adrift than it was even after the last election. A lot can change but it’s ā€˜miles’ off at present.

You are Probably right as of now, but their base is being eroded by the far right ON that is a big future problem for them . It wont take much for that to significantly change the polls. Look what happend to cambpell newman. he blew a huge majority without the added headache of ON nipping at their heels. I predict a lot of drama ahead of them in the runnup to the olympics. LNP cronies cant help themsleves , theyll all be in the troughs snorting and munching away. Its very predictable

No…that’s just taking it too far.

Don’t go down that slippery slope of hope…it only leads to greater despair :face_holding_back_tears:

Who knows where ON is in 2 years time. They could be a legit party of government or back on 6%. Anything could happen…

I think there’s lots of bad blood and memories from the previous government. The Libs would have to lose their way big time which could happen however that doesn’t mean change of government as we’ve seen in Victoria. I think Crisafulli is doing a reasonable job and is a steady hand it seems.

Tickle-me-Albo will be 103!

ON will eventually start to complain about the Preferential voting system, before too long.

It’s going to hurt them. While their popularity goes up, especially with Liberal and swing voters……… they’re getting extremely lower preference votes. Because You’re seeing Labor and Greens supporters place them last on preferences, in SA.

Eventually they’ll pull out the Trump playbook, of election fraud conspiracies.
