Even better reason not to listen to her.

their nuclear policy alone made them unelectable , despite their cries of how unfairly Dutton was portrayed by Labor . the work from home and sacking of 40,000 plus workers also didn’t help.
the far right wing of the liberal and national party have almost no hope of ever gaining power again until they find a way at to get closer to the centre .

Whether they are good or bad, collectively we pick them. Sometimes I question the selections we make, Ty Zantuck did play 9 games at the Bombers.

Yep, even the Libs aren’t that inept

As my boomer Parents say ā€œBaby Boomers are the most entitled generation we’re ever seenā€.

Do your X best and give them all a big ā€˜whatever’. Reality bites suckers.

Jesus mate, let it go. Did Zoe ā– ā– ā– ā–  on your lawn or something? From voting for a Teal to a bizarre obsession with spooging your schadenfreude all over her is quite something. Your boi won, and won dirty. Live it, love it, Lawry

Looks like Calwell to Labor. Hoping the candidate is mannered enough to not rub it in like Timmy, the Boy Who Prayed Hardest to Come First

Both are within my budget. Venue?

Yeah but it’s a choice between them, you poor old thing

Portland? You say.

PM sent.

There are reports of a higher than normal level of informals in aged care residences and hospital settings.
In some circumstances it can be explained by the number of candidates, or possibly by residences/ hospitals with a higher concentration of aged who don’t have English as a first language.
In speaking to a 2022 Bill, Zoe Daniel noted that residences were now taking in people at a later age and with more morbidities…
Goldstein then had 22 Aged Care Residences. It will be interesting to learn whether the informals in Goldstein are outside the average.
IDK the process for removing an aged person from the electoral roll. It’s a lot easier at Council level, where voting is not compulsory once you reach 70yo.

AEC has granted a partial recount in Goldstein. Starting Wednesday and expected to take four days.

Will go over first preference ballots for both candidates and informal votes (~78% of votes cast).

I do not see this changing the final outcome. I expect Tim Wilson will remain the elected candidate for Goldstein. But, this should placate Zoe Daniel to a point where the matter can be considered over.

… or were way UNDER average, with the oldies getting some help to vote the ā€œrightā€ way.

Surely they must mean ALL candidates, not ā€œbothā€ Wilson and Daniel. Just knowing first prefs for those two won’t help at all.

No, because that would be a full recount.

The rationale for a partial recount is as follows:

Interesting choice of words in your post.
I’ve never seen Zoe Daniel as a person to be placated.
In all her interventions in Parliamentary and Committee debates on the Hansard record, she has been evidence based, argues her case cogently and doesn’t do the sore loser if her proposals aren’t considered.
It makes a refreshing change for a third perspective when the Government and Opposition hurl abuse at each other.
Her interventions are also a useful fact based source of information on complex issues, her journalist reporting skills to the fore.
