Australian Policies -- from December 2023

I take a different view, and in fact, all of Melbourne was in isolation with road blocks on the edge of our Town staffed by Military with weapons.

There were three thousand people living in those Towers, and less than 50 made complaints to Debbie Glass, so less than 2%.

Dan had a job to do which was to protect the majority which he did. So @Chris_1993 can bleat all he likes but the end justifies the means.

Come off it Foxy, you’re not a bloody Jesuit !

Jesus wept ! And we’ve been dragged into AUKUS with these incompetent stinking Poms !

The difference was that we could go outside our homes, IIRC within a 4.5 distance , get fresh air, shop etc. We weren’t locked in.
Some of the so called bad LGAs of western Sydney did it tough, with semi lock ins and curfews, cops patrolling the streets.
Glass noted the high risk and that the acting CHO at the time had only 15 minutes to take a decision. Yes there was a higher risk, but the actual implementation could have been handled better. As it turned out, the most draconian measures only lasted a few days. The first day was the worst and improved measures were put in place over the fortnight.

Must have run out of araldite to glue the bolt heads back on after they snap them off.

Our decision not to attend the Nagasaki memorial is pretty disgraceful.

I’ve been there. There is a lot of Australian people who assist with their programs for no nukes and ongoing education about the devistation they cause.

Really stupid why we are doing this.

Judge should have said “that’ll do, I’ve heard enough…case dismissed with costs against Reynolds”

As I understand it, the memorial wasn’t boycotted as such by the US and other western countries, but representation was below Ambassadorial level.

Still pathetic.

A little more history in everyone so we remember the lessons of the past can only do good.

It’s pretty clear where these countries sit with Israel so no surprise they did this.

It was to do with Israel not being invited. Russia and Belarus had been off the invitation list for some time.
Australia just went along with its Western mates. Reportedly, an NGO in Canada protested , as well as an Islam group in the US. I haven’t seen anything in the media here about Australia’s decision or any official public statement.

that’s probably textbook definition of ironic, I chose her because of professionalism , a journalist to leak something to assist a politician .

Not surprised about no media here. Plenty in Japanese (I don’t speak it so I can’t translate it properly how it’s being reported).

No real shock but SA Libs need a new leader

It doesn’t appear to have been newsworthy in Continental Europe. Outside Japan, pro Israel media attention in US and Israel.

Has anyone in the last few years launched defamation proceedings and not looked like an even bigger ■■■■ than before it?

More like Liberals need a Leader. Not sure they have one anywhere.

I’m surprised Spiers lasted so long here. They are no hope here for the next election at a minimum so I think they will just put a patsy in to see them to another loss and then look at other options. I think Ash wants to run for it one day from the vibes I’ve got from her but now isn’t the right time

The Vacant land tax rules that are kicking in for Victoria in Feb are an absolute disgrace.
