I agree. It should be income based.

I’m not sure if I’m a fan of reducing the amount, but increased flexibility on payment is logical.

My goodness

Do the right thing, obey the laws and no one has to pay a cent.
The new mobile phone detection cameras in Adelaide gave everyone a 6 month grace period where all fines were waived. All are fixed locations and signposted so everyone knows where they are and yet still 2500 fined in the first week since the grace period ended

You need glasses ? Or are you just a fan of Mutton ?

At some point though the income you earn means you couldn’t care less about the fines. I’ve seen many people shop their demerit points so that others can take the points for a financial bonus.

Aint no fan, thank you. Just doesn’t look like him. Looks more like Kerry Packer.

Is it too simplistic to just suggest people don’t speed. Especially if you can’t afford the fine. Surely it’s something all of us who drive can some kind of control over.

If there’s a higher rate of offending in high income groups, then could be justified. Not sure if that’s the case though.

I may be wrong on this but I think they introduced it in some euro countries, parking fines also, because rich people didn’t give a fark about petty fines and would do as they pleased. Lambo on the footpath on a major street, no wuks, Lambo doing 200 up the Hume etc
