Realistically we need coal and gas for 10 to 20 years till we get the grid and renewable / battery sorted, we do not need nuclear.
If we were ever going to do nuclear that ship sailed 20 or 30 years ago , we are nearly half way there with what we are doing, there will be bumps in the road but to throw that away on this coaltion fantasy would be worse than insanity

He only realised after his Uni of Qld Phd and years of being a ‘full on greenie’ (yeah, ok) that he was using emotion instead of logic to, um, think about stuff. How did his doctoral advisor not pick this up?! But once he realised that “ It dawned on me then that everyone else was not thinking logically either…”. Faaaaark
The moment he cites for this epiphany, which he didn’t feel emotionally but just logicked, “ If I had to guess, I think I was saying nuclear was too expensive. Then I think the next breath I said that renewables are cheaper from a welfare perspective…”. Rigourous sausage making here.
It actually reads like a pyramid scheme testimonial, “I was just like you, I was living my life thinking with my feelings when there was a whole undiscovered realm of head thinking and logically connecting convenient informations to make things sound like they make sense, even when they don”t!”

The first response, someone who seems to agree with him but goes on to basically disprove the nuclear case on timeline and cost. The second reminds that the CSIRO costings were very optimistic to the tune of 4 billion a reactor unders when compared to similar projected in other countries.
He’s a property investment contrarian who has apparently made some spiky covid and same sex marriage utterances and appears to be playing every field he can with vaguely academic sounding blogging and a fresh tanned young face PR - in other words he’s got a niche and making $ by being a little bit controversial and against the grain - he’s basically an influencer and he’ll shill for whoever or whatever will platform him best.

nuclear power might have been a good idea 20 or 30 years ago. we currently half way to solving and planning our energy future . the coalition has desperatlley latched onto this as a way off anything but renewals . they are constantly trawling and searching to find ideas that are against what Labor or anyone else is doing
it’s all tied up in their born to rule mentality , they have not had a good idea for generations
No, it is all about coal and gas. The longer you can delay renewables the longer your sponsors can keep digging and they have some well funded sponsors like Gina.
