FWIW i didnt object to the closer of the indoor stuff like restraunts. But that outdoor stuff like play grounds was straight up draconian.
I agree
No we are not !!
Where the Mums were partying and not social distancing. It was explained over and over again. Itâs no different from insisting on posting that the cops fired rubber bullets, when they didnât.
Did COVID lockdown in Melbourne go for two years ??? Guess I missed that or are you just full of crap ?
Schools were on remote learning for most of if not all of 2020 and 2021.
The teenagers of Gaza would like a word. Or countless other cities across the farking planet.
Scotty21 hates sourcing wiki but is fine with sourcing tweet from 3AW âjournoâ who mentions machetes and cites a Hun article nobody can access without giving Rupert Murdoch money. Itâs jolly japes day!
From the study used by the article:
âThree quarters of participants reaching threshold scores for a common mental disorder (CMD) across the COVID-19 pandemic waves had a CMD in previous waves, implying that high incidence reflects factors beyond pandemic stressorsâ
Itâs not open access so I canât share the paper but it is Robson et al Lancet Psychiatry 2025.
Lockdowns and COVID measures absolutely did have an impact but itâs not the only factor at play here. There absolutely needs to be a lot of work done in the youth and adolescent mental health space, this research makes it abundantly clear.
Also note: I dgaf if you want to tear Andrews apart over anything. Go ahead. I do care if findings of research are not being honestly discussed for the sake of partisan arguments, though.
Budget deficits over the next four years to 2027-28 are forecasted to increase by $21.8bn to $143.9bn, just six months after the May budget, with the Albanese government blaming the blowouts on âunavoidable spendingâ and flow-on effects from overseas economy.
While the budget bottom line has improved by $1.3bn this financial year, bringing the forecasted deficit from $28.3bn to $26.9bn, the deficit forecast over 2025-26 will grow from $42.8bn to $46.9bn, or 1.6 per cent of Australiaâs GDP.
This would be the largest deficit outside of the pandemic since 2015.
Medium term projections also state the budget will not return to surplus until 2034-35.
The figures were released in the Mid-Year Economic Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) on Wednesday.
There always has been. On the bright side it just shows that Melbourne kids are more clear eyed and intelligent about the realities of their future and they have enormous reasons to be depressed along with the normal problems of growing up. I can source somebody on X to support this if you like.
Using kids problems to bolster the LNP campaign in Victoria is pretty shameful stuff, which what is happening here ultimately.
No they donât.
They live in Australia, most have homes, food, education, no wars, safer than most places, plenty to do etc, etc etc,
Kids in Gaza may have reasons to be depressed, but here ???
Negative Gearing is bigger than I thought.
From the ABC
"Nearly half of all Australian landlords have negatively geared properties, according to new figures that show the highest earners are hauling in tens of billions of dollars from tax concessions and loopholes.
Capital gains tax concessions will âcostâ the federal budget $75 billion this year, and super tax concessions another $51 billion, according to Treasuryâs annual tax report.
As in previous years, most of the benefit will go to the highest earners. For instance, the top tenth of tax filers will account for $4 of every $5 claimed this year via the capital gains tax (CGT) discount."
fkg lol

None of them are reasons for depression which is a serious mental health condition
sometimes bacchus, your thoughts can remain unsaid.
There is a reason dinosaurs are in museums.
Depression can be cured by just telling people their issues are not valid and they have no reason to be depressed.
