Albo has said he recalls calling Joyce twice about upgrades. Were there others ? He can only recall 2. He’s not denying there were more. When politicians say to the best of my knowledge or I only recall - you know they are being evasive. Apparently another 8 flight upgrades have been discovered beyond the 22 Albo declared (after Albo said he declared everything). Sounds like Nine are sitting on more information and are drip feeding it all. Aston works/worked for Nine.
Dutton saying Albo should refer himself to NACC.

If anything it’s better security to upgrade politicians.
In a lounge through first class check in and up the pointy end is waaaaaaaaay safer than sitting in a departure lounge then economy. Get some bloke who’s been emulating Boony wanting to punch on.

Joyce was very hands on with stuff like that. He had direct lines with plenty of those in power and considered Albo a mate

But most business have a corporate box, Aus open tickets or birdcage marques for the same reason.
If anyone’s making $1b decisions because they got some free hospitality they are morons.

The trade minister was at the Penfolds tent, oh no he’s conflicted with decisions around trade with China.
Oops that politician just ate lobster, again maybe they are conflicted with China.
The transport minister was at the Mercedes tent, now we know why EV’s aren’t being adopted.
The racing minister was living it up as a guest of the VRC, how can they regulate horse racing? Actually that example might be real problem.
Think of all the optics.

Fair call.
Bits and pieces but nothing that most in the industry didn’t already know. It’s pretty much an attack on Joyce and Goyder.
So, Aston chooses to promote it as Albanese being bought by Joyce and his journo mates play along with it.
I don’t know if that was his intent initially as he has had a long running dispute with Joyce and it probably started as a way to attack him but by including Albanese it probably will help him sell a lot more copies. Aston is also tied up with Virgin and the disgraceful way in which Qatar was blocked out by the Feds has probably stirred the pot the plenty
