As to a presumption that foreign schooled doctors practising here are less educated than Australian schooled doctors. , there are systems in place on recognition of foreign qualifications. ( Some of them could be better educated ). The AMA has a decisive role in recognition.
This is the machine, which so many feel compelled to protect, even when they are the smallest cog
My friends German husband, who is a plastic surgeon (20+ years) and professor at a leading German university, didnāt get his qualifications recognised.
There are bilateral agreements, which often include provisions on mutual recognition of qualifications as part of a wider trade in services deal.
The AMA has the reputation of blocking recognition , with a North American/UK bias ( in countries where Australians undertake higher studies at prestige institutes)
Some qualifications are recognised, subject to the foreign schooled undertaking additional training in Australia.
No they wont if they lose.
I will, and in fact Beni, I will not be wrong. If you truly believe that Voters who change their vote to LNP are sane, then explain to me how. While you are not happy with Labor, will you be happier with Dutton ?
I actually never self reflect, as I am a fatalist and whatever will be will be.
Iām assuming the education is at least a high standard if not better here based on the fact that many students with the resources to do so, choose to study here. Is it somehow wrong to believe Australia has better universities than anywhere else? Iām not saying that simply attending an Australian university makes you better or that all foreign qualified students canāt be excellent in their fields.
Labor are not going to lose this election. Minority government yes but Albo will be the PM
Concur.
Iām resigned to the ALP losing.
Because too many people get sucked into culture wars.
Because too many people have already forgotten that Dutton was actually a major part of the people we just kicked out.
Because too many people only care about balanced budgets and unemployment and CPI and Inflation when it suits them.
Because too many people are saying the cost of living is the major issue while siding with a party proposing the mother of all boondoggles.
Because too many people, quite frankly, are idiots.
And thatās not the ALPās fault.
It shows they are very desperate and must be worried. They will still win but they must be sweating
because they are all in one big protection racket with one another, thatās why our much needed ICAC ended up being so ā ā ā ā , itās designed to not actually catch anyone.
Labor are desperate and they are breaking the glass, they had no idea until recently people were sick of their ineptitude.
And @wimmera1 itās not Laborās fault that people are goldfish, itās their fault they canāt communicate with the goldfish.
LNP are an awful group of hate mongering sycophants but they know how to communicate with the population. Labor are the workers party and theyāve lost the working class, for that they can only blame themselves
Who knows, AMA knocked back a german trained specialist. Iād happily see a german trained doctor.
My friends situation was unbelievable. It felt like the AMA wanted to protect its patch when it related to specialist.
could they speak english?
Nearly all Europeans aged under 50 speak somewhat decent English.
The Dutch and the Danes speak English at a higher tested level than Americans
Icac seems to be actully not doing anything at all. They have been in longe enough for example to have noticed what Dutton has done with share insider trading. If the media found out about this, you would have to wonder if icac do anything at all. I find any other explanation for what has occured to be totally unbeliveable , or heās the luckiest man on the planet. Just look at those liberal iditos in esitmates today going off their brians when asked about it. Tells you all you need to know
How did you know they were all nearly all foreign students?
I know itās unfair and discriminatory but most people go off their Brians eventually. Itās just a ā ā ā ā name

Barnaby Joyces 18 month old baby bought shares in a company that was about to get a grant and everyone was like "how do you know he didnāt have a keen sense for investment? "
