As to a presumption that foreign schooled doctors practising here are less educated than Australian schooled doctors. , there are systems in place on recognition of foreign qualifications. ( Some of them could be better educated ). The AMA has a decisive role in recognition.
This is the machine, which so many feel compelled to protect, even when they are the smallest cog
My friends German husband, who is a plastic surgeon (20+ years) and professor at a leading German university, didnāt get his qualifications recognised.

There are bilateral agreements, which often include provisions on mutual recognition of qualifications as part of a wider trade in services deal.
The AMA has the reputation of blocking recognition , with a North American/UK bias ( in countries where Australians undertake higher studies at prestige institutes)
Some qualifications are recognised, subject to the foreign schooled undertaking additional training in Australia.

Iām assuming the education is at least a high standard if not better here based on the fact that many students with the resources to do so, choose to study here. Is it somehow wrong to believe Australia has better universities than anywhere else? Iām not saying that simply attending an Australian university makes you better or that all foreign qualified students canāt be excellent in their fields.

Who knows, AMA knocked back a german trained specialist. Iād happily see a german trained doctor.
My friends situation was unbelievable. It felt like the AMA wanted to protect its patch when it related to specialist.

Nearly all Europeans aged under 50 speak somewhat decent English.
The Dutch and the Danes speak English at a higher tested level than Americans

Icac seems to be actully not doing anything at all. They have been in longe enough for example to have noticed what Dutton has done with share insider trading. If the media found out about this, you would have to wonder if icac do anything at all. I find any other explanation for what has occured to be totally unbeliveable , or heās the luckiest man on the planet. Just look at those liberal iditos in esitmates today going off their brians when asked about it. Tells you all you need to know
