Anyone who doesn’t follow the Bombers. @JBOMBER has strict guidelines.

Well of course.

They are the second most powerful union in the country.

There would be a riot if the Government helped fund university beds for international students when the local feeling would be lets build social housing for Aussies. I maintain that if housing is an issue for international students then the numbers will drop.

Exactly. You have these overseas student paying massive fees to study at university. It’s common sense to encourage them to stay in Australia to work and pay more taxes.

Wow! What a xenophobic question. Do you think the aforementioned doctor would apply if they could not pass an English proficiency test?

ABC chief election analyst Antony Green retiring after the forthcoming Federal Election.

Election nights just won’t be the same without him.

A sad day, love listening to him.

If Green doesn’t call an election can it ever be called?

Good question!

Is it a legitimate election result if he doesn’t call it?

Is this the death of democracy in Australia?

He hardly gets it wrong, and he must have some incredible connections for all the detail he gives. I remember in 1993 when he called the Federal Election early and the Liberals on ABC were just shocked as they expected Hewson to beat Keating. At our election night party, we were pretty shocked as well.

Yes they are. They are going to lose potentially by a lot.

Albo who I think is a super intelligent politician is not a convincing leader. He’s a very capable fence sitter and reader of the room.

That being said the LNP in their current form are rubbish - I don’t think a lot of traditional conservative voters have a lot of confidence in them either.

So we could see Albo as a one term PM but then straight away the same for Dutton.

Both sides need an injection of fresh talent at the top. The Libs probably right through a potential front bench/cabinet. So I’m hoping if Dutton does win there’s some fresh political talent that arrives in some marginal seats that flip.

Albanese performed far better on QandA in responding to Qs by the public, compared to responses to journos at pressers.

I left very unimpressed by his performance. I’m a swinging voter.

Mind you I think less, way less of Peter Dutton.

Labor will likely have less seats than the coalition.

But the Coalition won’t have enough seats to claim victory.

It definitely won’t be a landslide win. The elected independents are the people who will decide the Government.

You can’t claim victory when you’ve won 35% of the votes.

Maybe. Those independents need to stand and be of a good calibre themselves I think. Its not easy winning a lower house seat as an Indie.

I live in a marginal Labor seat federally, lib seat state level.

The Labor candidate is lovely. I think she might win again. If there’s a bit of discontent around all the “parties” there might be more of a vote for quality candidates.

Don’t know who will be running for the Libs.

Unlike the older generation of swing voters…. Who flip flop between Labor and Liberal.

That is not the voting habits of young people.

Young people are not shifting their vote from Labor to Liberal to Labor…… they are moving to Independents.

Young people are disillusioned by the major parties. They simply are not voting for them.

I’m by no means a young person, but for the first time in my life I’ll be voting for the independent in my electorate this time around.
