Australian Policies -- from October 2024

I might.

Whether I’d have had the ability is another matter altogether.

But either way, I opted for another career many many years ago. Much to my Year 10 English teachers chagrin, lol.

I don’t know enough about the details but it doesn’t require Sherlock Holmes to realise in his line of work you would need to be very careful to protect your sources.

He starts the story that’s lead to royal commissions.

That has nothing to do with it.
He initially published thymosin. Then he published TB4.
From the same interview with Dank.
So when they asked, ‘well, let’s see which it was, show us your notes’, we went…
‘Nnnnnnnnnnno.’

It’s not about sources.

Look across his body of work.

If you took a grudge against every journalist in Australia who reported across the saga well there wouldn’t be much news to trust.

Oh, I definitely hold a grudge against certain journalists across the saga, but that’s really beside the point.
It’s not about the saga per se, it’s about the fact that what he writes objectively cannot be trusted.

I wouldn’t get out of bed for the pleb money he is on

Are you a Ben Roberts smith fan?

Or Comancheros?

Or the underbelly of Victoria ALP?

He goes hard at all sides and breaks huge stories.

But yeah I guess if you prefer to simply read the latest Auction results in the news he might not be your cup of tea

Is he always 100% right? Probably not. But the again he’s investigative. Only as good as his sources

I’m really not going to be distracted from my point, here.
I’ve conceded that he does important and even dangerous work.
That doesn’t change the fact that I don’t trust him not to make things up or lie to make the story better.
And that’s really on him, not that I think for one moment he cares.

I’m already committed to pro bono work for the No Norfcote Nuffies party.

Do you think he’s made up stuff in this latest story?

And if so what?

Over not trusting him for knowing TB4 vs Tymosin?

Oh he knows…unless you think he’s stupid?

Doesn’t matter - the legs of his story should have been about establishing just that. Which you could follow the saga on ad nauseum.

Still im suprised you wouldn’t trust what he writes over it.

Forest for the trees and all when it comes to the current story I’d have thought

Because he changed his story and refused to show what he’d originally written down, I don’t trust him not to make stuff up, whether it’s to sensationalise a story, or promote a personal or commercial agenda.

I don’t think I can be more clear on this point, and I really don’t understand both why you care so much, and have such a hard time following what I’m saying.

Good question.

The main reason they should form a “Teal Party” is to get around the crap law that the ■■■■ and ■■■■-Lite Parties cooked up to ensure they get the most money to spend on election campaigns and strangle the independents.

There was already an investigation underway. He may have compromised it.
As to the RBA scandal, I simply don’t believe the AFP knew nothing before his so called expose, there was a program running , with checking going on in every country where Australia was doing the note printing, Posts getting visits, involved in inquiries.
There are good reasons why investigations aren’t made public. Sometimes journalists are given a head’s up to move things along.
Ben Roberts Smith was already on the nose. He was a fool to take defamation action.
The Vic ALP scandal was brought to the public arena by one of the ALP’s own.
Who hasn’t reported on organised crime and bikies.?
He has a golden pen, weaves a plausible story. I’ll give him that.

Harsh on excrement.

So you’re thinking he’s making stuff up about bikie gangs standing over work sites, taking millions in government money?

Thats what I don’t get.

Why anyone would attack the messenger on a story of this importance?

Oh, I’m sure there’s lots of reasons.
You need to let this go now.
I think he flushed his credibility down the toilet and you really should be able to cope with that. It doesn’t affect you at all.

Oh I don’t think Australia needs organised crime and the government should adopt laws designed to dismantle it.

It’s a good thing this is news before an election . I think it will matter to a lot of people.

How could you trust any news unless you see it for yourself. I had personal dealing with McKenzie and he is a lying slug.
