That’s only because you’re making an assumption that the news he is bringing will be harmful for something else you clearly love.
It’s not because he is lying. Theres no evidence to suggest that.

Who are the business people paying the bribes? Has our Nick divulged their names?
You do know there are offences related to organised crme in relevant Acts, such as the Crimes Act, Criminal Code etc.
Not a new idea seeking to dismantle organiseed crime. Infact its the AFPs key crime type to dismantle.
I have no love at all for graft and corruption. Have seen enough of it in my business overseas to want it stamped out. The issues are much greater than Building Contractors paying bribes to Bikie Union people.
First there is the matter of due process, and McKenzie et al by claiming criminal activity and naming names, circumvents presumption of innocence.
Secondly and perhaps more importantly, is the potential of our law enforcement to not be up to the job, to identify the crooks and to bring them to justice.
What I think of McKenzie is insignificant compared to the concept of conviction by media and the lack of law and order. If any of this is true then the Police Dept are really a shambles and Government does need to fix their Management and give them the resources to operate.
and the stupid woman doing a lot of the ads is focussing on trans gender as the main problem . some other nonsense blurb about how many great cultures are part of Australia clearly having a passive aggressive dig at indigenous Australia
CFMEU is was and always has been a pack of dead set moron thugs . no place for this union in our society . now seems absulotley rotten to the core and fully infultratred by low life gangsters and Bikie thugs
get rid of them forever.
this will be and should be an anchor around the alp neck until they can find a way to get rid of them once and for all
A good mate of mine has worked on major rail projects for years.
He says there are a lot of guys who only seem to work one day a week, that day being a Sunday when it’s double or sometimes triple time.
Big guys, covered in tatts, who all rock up together, on motorbikes.
And by work, he means standing around smoking ciggies. And nobody says sh*t to them about it.
I had run ins with the old blf blokes in Melbourne on building sites back in the day. they were nothing but dumb scumbag thugs .
Would ‘dual citizens’ apply to people who came to this continent, stole, raped, murdered and continued to denigrate the native population for a couple hundred years?
I mean, can we really afford another referendum just to kick out a few anti-Israel anti-genocide types? Because that’s the unceasing whistle you’re hearing from the bloke who doesn’t want an indigenous flag anywhere near his person and is still looking to wedge Albo on something race related just for traction. Lawry, Dmaplestone, this would definitely kick your cossie livs in the nads, how can we justify it? This and nuclear, surely only one prezzie for chrissy?
“ The opposition leader, Peter Dutton, was up on Sunrise earlier this morning to defend his referendum proposal – despite his ongoing criticism of the voice referendum as being too expensive.
Dutton said his argument is “if you betray your allegiance to our country in that way you should expect to lose your citizenship”.
The voice … was the wrong issue for the government to put to the people. It could have been dealt with by legislation. The prime minister wouldn’t explain the logic, rationale and impact of the voice. That’s why it went down. What we’re proposing here is a discussion about whether we have adequate laws … whether the constitution is restrictive …
The Sunrise host noted that Australians’ top concern right now is cost-of-living pressures – can the nation afford another referendum? Dutton responded, “absolutely.”
Well it appears with the current laws they aren’t doing a particularly good job.
Seems vague enough at this point, and who wouldn’t trust an mp to make the call over the courts. Definitely the biggest problem facing the country right now, so big it needs a REFERENDUM.
“ The conduct has to be so serious it demonstrates they “repudiated their allegiance to Australia”, according to the Home Affairs Department’s explanation of citizenship cessation laws.
While the specifics of any referendum policy haven’t been revealed, a constitutional change giving the minister the power to strip citizenships would centralise power in the hands of the minister, effectively bypassing the courts.
The Coalition has been critical of Labor spending $450m on the voice referendum, saying it divided the country when the money would have been better spent helping struggling Australians.
But, as we flagged earlier, Dutton defended potentially spending hundreds of millions more during a cost of living crisis.”
f you took a grudge against every journalist in Australia who reported across the saga well there wouldn’t be much news to trust.
Pretty much it.
Dropped buying Fridays HUN during saga
“ The Victorian opposition leader Brad Battin was grilled at parliament this morning over his decision to tell media he was visiting cyclone-affected family in Queensland, when he actually took a four-night cruise.
Battin was noticeably absent last Wednesday as the government announced its planned changes to the bail act – action he had been calling on for months.
His office later told reporters he was on four days of planned leave, postponed from January. Then, on Saturday, Battin said he was in Queensland to visit his parents who had been impacted by Cyclone Alfred.
But the Herald Sun this morning revealed he spent several days on a cruise from Brisbane.”
Well, this guy’s a liar. Already got the job, didn’t need to qualify again.
I’m amazed there were running cruises from Brisbane during a tropical cyclone.
Must have been a lastminute.com.au kind of deal.
that’s a trump type from Dutton.
Would get 80% yes to deport dual citizens that have committed a crime.
Also think some would be happy if they also deported the dual citizens in parliament.
If you don’t commit a crime no problem.
There are circumstances where it could be a bit silly though. Ie lived here more years than their country of origin.
Doesn’t really need a referendum though.
Apparently the justice system isn’t up to the task so we need to transfer the power to an individual minister after spending hundreds of millions of dollars asking people if bad guys should be kicked out. If they’ve done anything that heinous they’ll be imprisoned. It’s the failed border cop looking for a wedge and a telling indication of his penchant for a more authoritarian condition.
there’s also plenty of rumours about Justice system apparently coached to give lesser sentences so people won’t be deported.
I’m not entirely sure it isn’t a complete bluff (as I can’t imagine it even getting to a vote if it’s a minority government) to just try bring the voice referendum back into political discourse during an election campaign.
there’s also plenty of rumours about Justice system apparently coached to give lesser sentences so people won’t be deported.
What rumours and what reason would there be for that? And who by and how does the ‘justice system’ get coached? And even if there was any truth in this, who in their right mind thinks it’s better to give a politician the power instead? Knowing how compromised 95% of them are.
