Lib MPs in the Reps are thin on the ground in Victoria.

If Dutton loses his seat, the Libs are in all sorts of mess.
They literally have nobody. The fact that it will be Angus Taylor by default, just tells you about the dire situation of the Libs.
why is that a shock?. heās a dead set c#$& and everyone knows it . even people that slightly admire him know heās a c___

Her own Branch has been fighting her preselection as a candidate, some thinking of running as Independents.
Under the Coalition rules of not running a Nat candidate against a sitting Lib MP, thereās discontent in the Riverina, a blue ribbon seat for the Coalition.
Susan Ley apparently has the reputation as being scatty. No one can work out exactly what faction in the Liberals she belongs and it seems to vary depending on the issue. Someone I know termed her complex, and says she is devoted to Peter Dutton.
trump has just killed the im a tough guy and Iāll do the hard things schtick . bad time for temu trump to be temu trump . people feel it on their super . Iāll bet Labor really play this line hard toward the day . Iām going to say liberals not only canāt win theyāll get cleaned up now because of trump . the goodd old trump effect that some idiots made a virtue when he first got back in is no longer a good thing .
So the air guitar playing Greens promise tax breaks for live music venues. Presumably you will only be able to play air guitar and other pretend styles at these venues because last night my band and 2 others got our gigs cancelled because the Greens had booked their campaign launch at the same venue. They didnāt want live bands playing and we got shunted. Fortunately we all found an alternate venue.
Fark the Greens.
You should play music Gina likesā¦
for a progressive party they sure are conservative
Did you about the music venue that has the noise police telling them to soundproof their venue because the noise affects a block of units nearby. The block of units are yet to be built.
Much-loved music venue ordered to improve its soundproofing ā for flats that donāt exist
April 9, 2025 ā 5.23pm
The owner of Fitzroyās much-loved Night Cat warns he may have to close after the developer of a nearby apartment building sought an enforcement order against the live music venue for breaching noise level limits.
C&R Building Pty Ltd is yet to get a permit to build a 10-storey residential and office complex at 159-167 Johnston Street, but the developer has already forced the Night Cat to make major soundproofing upgrades or stop trading.
Justin Stanford at the Night Cat in Fitzroy.
The Night Cat owner Justin Stanford has turned to crowdfunding to raise $60,000 to pay for the measures after the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal ruled it had breached the conditions of its planning permit regarding noise. He said his venue, which has operated for 31 years, had not had any noise infringement notices in five years.
āWe need to install some sophisticated measuring and limiting equipment to make sure weāre 100 per cent compliant with our planning permit,ā he said. āWe want to trade daily for all of our neighbours, but the problem has been that we havenāt had any sound complaints from the council. We assumed that everything was all good.ā
The Night Catās plight comes amid a string of recent live music venue closures, including the Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood, which shut its doors last month.
C&R Building had alleged that the Night Cat was in āgross breachā of its permit by exceeding noise levels. A VCAT hearing took place late last month. It was noted in the decision that C&R Building was not currently affected by the noise as its residential building did not exist yet.
A render of the proposed Johnston Street apartments.
However, that did not prevent VCAT from ordering the Night Cat to comply with noise levels.
āThe applicant accepts that its amenity is not presently impacted but does say the exceedances with respect to the noise limits are substantial and pose a risk and harm to the community,ā VCAT deputy president Teresa Bisucci wrote in her order.
Separately, VCAT will also decide on C&R Buildingās application for a 57-apartment development after the City of Yarra failed to grant a permit to approve construction. The council indicated at the VCAT hearing that it was likely to oppose the application as the developmentās lack of proposed soundproofing measures could compromise the viability of the Night Cat.
Stanford said he would continue trading with lower noise levels until upgrades could take place.
āIn the past, weāve worked with developers to get a result thatās made everybody happy, but itās a bit of a different situation this time,ā he said.
Stanford said that in addition to more soundproofing, he needed to install sound monitoring equipment and hire expert acousticians to prove he was compliant. If the money could be found, he said, the upgrades would protect the venue from complaints from any and all future developments nearby.
āThe thing is with soundproofing, you do it and then you find out what the result is, then you do a bit more and find out the result of that,ā he said.
āItās not like you can accurately predict how much sound escapes from the building until youāve done the soundproofing. Iāve done just about everything you can do [to soundproof the venue], but there are still some gaps at the back of the building, so I think if we block up all of those and we get our measurements right we will be safe.ā
In Victoria, noise restrictions are policed by the Environment Protection Authority, and these limits become stricter after 11pm each night apart from Sundays, when the time is 10pm.
While Stanford said he was still filling his venue, it wasnāt enough to pay for the necessary upgrades without crowdfunding.
āItās a marginal business. I absolutely love it, but it has been a particularly difficult time,ā he said. āWe had COVID, we were closed for a year and then we had to pay back all of that rent. Iām still paying back that rent ⦠and then there was a cost-of-living crisis.ā
Yarra Mayor Stephen Jolly threw his support behind the Night Cat, which he said should be protected by the state governmentās āagent of changeā principle. The planning rule was introduced in 2014 and requires developers to include appropriate ānoise attenuation measuresā if they are within 50 metres of a live music venue.
āThey havenāt even moved in yet and heās under threat,ā he said. āThis is not about noise. This is about getting rid of him. Justin is very well liked and loved and everyoneās really shocked about this.ā
There are several other mid-rise apartments proposed for Fitzroy. City of Yarra has approved about 1450 homes between Wellington and Brunswick streets in the past decade.
The Night Cat is on Johnston Street, a strip famous for its sticky-carpet live music venues, some of which have faced issues with noise complaints and other planning issues
Probably because most men are arse-holes.
Jacinta Price pledges to āmake Australia great againā in WA
Coalition frontbencher Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has vowed to āmake Australia great againā as she stood alongside Opposition Leader Peter Dutton at an event in Perth on Saturday, echoing US President Donald Trumpās signature slogan.
The firebrand senator made the remarks at the end of her speech and before a press conference where she said: āWe have incredible candidates right around the country that Iām so proud to be able to stand beside to ensure that we can make Australia great again, that we can bring Australia back to its former glory, that we can get Australia back on track.ā
Talk about being a stupid, tone deaf ā ā ā ā .
I hope she keeps it going . liberals are cooked anyway . they canāt step back from the temu trump crap now and just pretend they werenāt keen on it ⦠no amount of spinning will change peopleās minds this late . such ā ā ā ā dutts
If we take it back far enough to the āthe good old daysā the LNP speak of, she wouldnāt be allowed to vote, have a bank account without her husbands approval or drink in the public bar.
How much are you willing to trust a 2PP metric when ~1 in 3 primary votes is not going to either ALP or LNP?
Antony Green says it cannot be trusted. Thatās good enough for me to believe it shouldnāt be.
I just want this election over already. 3 door knockers this week alone, ā ā ā ā off.
Tell them they interrupted you having a wank. Works every time.
You no doubt have a lot more insight into politics than I do but my opinion is based on many of my senior GP colleagues who have a pretty unanimous view that this has been a serial failure of many successive governments.
