Why is Dutton associating himself with her? What does he think she brings or who does he think she appeals to ?
Is it like a statement that ‘he’s a nice guy and not a misogynist racist pig. ‘Look some of my best friends are aboriginal and female.’
She’s the DEI hire that’s against anything that represents her minorities. The question should be, why does she associate with him/them?
She’s a frontbencher. He can hardly ignore her.
My driveway has 35m of vertical elevation change to get to the house. You’d be surprised how many doorknockers I DON’T get, even though I’m in a marginal seat. Pity really, I wouldn’t mind the chance to argue with people from time to time…
That is a myth. They could drink in the public bar. They just could not complain about any swearing if they chose to do that.
Just don’t let them drink their own bathwater and do an Essington from here.
“Look! Here’s the other woman who doesn’t think I’m a monster”.
No disrespect to GPs, but they would say that, as it has severely affected their income. Back in 1975, no-one in my memory envisaged the cost of health would rise so much. Has a lot to do with technology and better practices keeping us old folk alive, but also most Health Care Provider Corporations make a lot of profit. If you know any really old GPs ( who probably should have retired) ask them about 1975 and if they had any input into Medicare and Universal Healthcare. I was very young, working for a Minister in Goughs Government and had no input, just listened to all the discussions. I recall there was a big push from Labor’s Left that all Healthcare be nationalised and GPs were to be Government employees paid a salary equivalent to High Court Judge at that time which was about $75,000. Average salary then was about $7,000. Today High Court Judge gets about $700,000, so I reckon your GP Mates would be happy today with that, given it would be a 35 hour week, holiday pay, sick leave, super etc as well.
AMA on behalf of Doctors who were a very conservative bunch then, called it communism and refused to even discuss it.
My GP works a six day week and bulk bills. He makes a reasonable income, but he works hard for it and in my experience is a very good Doctor, much better than many in our Town.
If I was in charge, the election would be today. Labor can win defeat out of the jaws of victory better than the Bombers.
Labor blows up the property balloon even further with this 5% bullshit.
Clowns.
Terrible terrible policy. First home owners don’t need more debt, they need cheaper homes.
More political policy written by the big 4 banks.
What a wank.
Reckon you don’t understand what Albo is offering.
He’s offering the ability for first home owners to only stump up 5 percent deposit because us the tax payer is taking care of the additional 15% to guarantee a loan.
And upping the amount you can borrow under the scheme.
It does nothing to add any supply or reduce investor demand.
It’s junk policy by simply allowing the banks to lend more money.
Its policy that has been written by Westpac and Commonwealth bank.
Absolute trash.
It will not make homes more affordable
You wanna see a policy that will drive up house prices, have a look at the new LNP one.
The ALP one at least helps with the concern of getting a deposit together. Serviceability of the loan is unchanged, so can’t really borrow more.
As I said, you don’t understand the policy
Some Dutton fanboi on Insiders is spinning a lie on Fed PS WFH. He said they can choose to WFH the full 5 days during the hours of their choosing.
Total BS.
I follow a few regional local Facebook pages. It seems of late there has been an explosion of anonymous posts about crime on all of them.
I smell a rat wearing a blue tie.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
I don’t mind the policy
A limit on negative gearing to one or two rental properties would be better though
Go on enlighten me how it lowers prices for a home?
I don’t think it does but it possibly allows more people to enter the market for one
When there is a crisis for supply.
Just permits people to borrow more money.
Its a banks wet dream
ABC reporting that Dutton has gotten desperate enough to revive the ‘your mortgage payments are tax deductions’ thing again.
First home buyers only. Limited to the first 5 years and first $650k of a mortgage, plus a (very generous) income means test. No ‘new builds only’ requirement.
Looks like a prime way to give another big leg up to people with access to the bank of mum and dad, while screwing over those who’ve had to save their own deposit without help. I can also see a LOT of people getting in very deep trouble once the 5 years runs out if they overestimate their ability to pay in future. And I can’t even comprehend how much this will cost the budget.
