Two out of how many?
If youâve ever had the pleasure of standing in line at Centrelink, youâll quickly realise that the majority of these people simply donât have capacity to work. No business in their right mind would employ them.

All these businesses, no matter how large or small, are either struggling to fill the empty roles at all
I do always wonder about this. We have no problem getting good staff. Maybe because within the industry and community we have a good reputation of paying well and being a fair and honest employer. When I hear other small business owners rant about problems getting staff, then I hear about how poorly they pay and the high expectations they place on employees lives. Somehow they just do not get it.
I donât know what you doâŚseems like import/export.
Tech.
Itâs a long way from bartenders and retail is what Iâm saying.
Same principal applies. Employers treat their workers like commodities.
Hahahano.
Huge shortages in white collar jobs. Good luck getting any IT resources for less than $200k. Massive shortages in accounting and engineering. Iâve been recruiting some roles and people want 20-30k more than they would have got 3 years ago.
Used to be a big pool of short term temp resources. Now if you donât offer 12 months they donât even want to meet you.
Itâs accross the board not just unskilled hospo jobs.
This.
60k jobs going at three figures for good nowâŚ

Two out of how many?
The last two that have changed in NSW?
Most if not all of the other sitting members have been life long members of the communities they represent.(in nsw⌠I donât follow other states really)
Iâm assuming itâs some stoogey factional move that had been asked of Albo.
Beggars belief that there is any connection between these two and Fairfield and Parra.
And to drop two wealthy white candidates in at the expense of Iâm sure plenty of solid genuine local options that actually are a little representative of the area?
To be fair I donât know too much about this guy from Bellevue Hill, but Keneally makes my skin crawl. She will always have a pall of Eddie Obeid and Joe Tripodi over her.
Labor got rid of a perfectly good leader at state level for that woman. And look what the bastards did to the party on her watch?
Rees was going to clean the place up.
Instead we got KK and her mobsters.

The fact is that weâre not âfully employedâ, we are drastically under-employed.
LikeâŚI donât want to say hundreds of thousands because that seems like hyperbole, but I would not be surprised.
i reckon youâre underselling it tbh
for instance anyone doing a tafe course isnât counted as unemployed

Labor quit pretending to be something itâs not?
What is your farking point ?
Andrew Charlton is a quality person and candidate. He has money, but there is no rule that you have to be poor to be a labor person. I would really welcome him into my new electorate, and he will bring much needed talent to the Parliament.

Hahahano.
???
Then why not run in the Eastern Suburbs?
If heâs that good.
Wasnât clear?
Youâre out of touch.
Yep
The Marxist reawakenings are misguided. Itâs pure classical capitalism of supply and demand. Companies put off hiring during the pandemic and delayed projects. Now everybody is trying to recruit and thereâs not many skilled workers looking. Supply and demand and for the first time in decades thereâs a bit of power with supply.
If you want to change jobs perfect time to be doing it.
Jobkeeper was aimed at enabling the Employer to retain a skilled workforce, keep the Centrelink queues down.
I thought employer eligibility for Jobkeeper was linked in part to permanent employees on the books at a certain time. If so, nothing for retention of casual staff.

Parachuting another white wealthy champagne socialist
I can remember when it was a âclaretâ socialist - before the French persuaded us not to use generic terms - then âchardonnayâ socialist. Never heard the term âchampagneâ socialist before!
I guess if his house really is worth $16 million, he can afford the real stuff, i.e. French.
As a Labor supporter, I am unhappy - but, unfortunately, not surprised - that a wealthy individual from the other side of town is being âparachutedâ into Paramatta. All parties should pick locals where possible.
Call me a GSM socialist if you like â but Iâm not a Labor member any more, because Labor arenât socialist any more.
Howâs it going in NSW with the stoush between Fed and NSW Branch parties on the choice of candidates and how many captainâs picks over a good local candidate? Iâm only going by the many media reporting.
This ALP pick is interesting. On the one hand yeah the optics look terrible.
On the other havent we been complaining that the old crusty unionists with no charisma of Shorten and Albo is poor at cutting through.
Getting some young successful and charismatic MPâs into the government ranks might be a good thing.
Probably a better seat for this guy though.
