I was more looking for things they created, but sure.
Chalk that one up as a win?
Yeah I was just going off the irony that you were looking for a creation like that, but in actual fact they just wrecked it.
That’s kind of all they do.
Abbott, particularly.
But come on, a decade of conservative rule.
They must have something to show for it.
Anything at all.
Merged with part of the Federal Court, still functioning.
Not including policy reversals, so just new policies.
Signed the TPP
Metadata laws
Back doors into social media
Centralised health records
Online census
So they were still good at Orwellian data
Snowy Hydro 2
Probably a little unfair to compare them to Whitlam, or Hawke/Keating.
But…you know…even Gillard brought in carbon trading, two decades before it’s time with a minority government.
It was overturned immediately, but still, she brought it in.
So….
Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie has revealed her personal mobile number has been leaked online by a fellow politician, and is now being bombarded with abusive and threatening messages.
Under parliamentary privilege, Senator Lambie accused One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts of posting her private mobile number on his social media without her consent.
The outspoken Senator lashed One Nation for the act, calling on Senator Roberts to apologise for compromising her safety.
“I’ve received a number of nasty, abusive and threatening phone calls and messages,” Senator Lambie said.
“It should go without saying that it is completely unacceptable to leak other Senators’ personal contact details to the public just because you don’t like what they’re saying.
“One Nation have crossed a line here that should never be crossed.”
But the One Nation member was unapologetic as he refuted Senator Lambie’s accusations.
Senator Roberts said he was not responsible the phone number leak, placing the blame on One Nation Senate candidate Steve Mav.
“I need to correct the record and state that Steve was sent the phone number by a Tasmanian voter that got it from Senator Lambie’s Facebook post with an invitation to contact her,” Senator Roberts said.
“Steve Mav Senate candidate posted Senator Lambie’s telephone number and a text message.”
Senator Roberts said One Nation did not condone posting private phone numbers, and informed the Senate that Senator Lambie’s phone number had now been removed from social media by Mr Mav.
Like evidence is hard to find.
According to the Guardian, the (minority) Gillard Government holds the record for the most legislation passed, followed by Hawke.
That is impressive.
As far as it goes, and I did mention carbon trading.
But there’s legislation and then there’s society changing legislation.
I don’t think there’s a comparison between floating the dollar, or the many changes Whitlam made that are with us to this day, to anything Gillard did, as much as I respect her leadership and the constraints forced upon her.
Edit: If Rudd passed the mining tax then I’d have him in the same conversation.
But he didn’t.
It’s almost like these people don’t understand how the internet works
They’ve accomplished all sorts of things over the years.
There was that time they formed a vigilante neighbourhood watch group to catch the cat burglar but Scotty got drunk instead, and the time Scotty accidentally saved the nuclear plant from melting down. And who could forget when Scotty went into space and was saved by an inanimate carbon rod? Or the time Peter Dutton became the sanitation commissioner and they ended up having to move the whole town because of all the trash piling up? Oh, and the time Josh accidentally shot Mr Burns?
Good times, good times
They also sort of got google to pay uncle Rupert to pay them more money to post links to stories that people have to then pay again to read, and so fair circle jerk effort that
australia deserved everything we got after the last election.
hows your negative gearing now old mate.
■■■■■■■ off china when america could just dip set back to their side of the pacific.
I saw rennick interview on sky today. This bloke is dead set useless. He was complaining about having to account for nutters he’s posted on his own FB page by telling the journalist he’s happy to pass on details of said antivaxer nutters to the journalist for him to vet. Seriously thwre needs to be an iq test for candidates to be able to run for office.
They saved the weekend. I suppose that’s not exactly creating something, but they didnt destroy it.
I watched the interview with Karvelas - amazing.
Reportedly, Hunt has stated that the Covid information Rennick has posted on his FB is false.
The LIbs should disendorse him. I think he has another 3 years to run as a Senator, as a Queenslander, he was elected on an LNP ticket, but sits with the LIbs.
Was NDIS Gillard?
Goneski reform if it had gone through.
They’ve done and are doing what they set out to do. Entrench existing hierarchies, funnel money to the rich and stonewall on climate action, with some added religious flavor thrown in.
The post-election tax cuts, huge grants to groups like Paladin and The Great Barrier Reef Foundation, legislating that Facebook and Google must pay Newscorp for content, shoehorning religious legislation through during a pandemic are just some examples. This has been ideologically consistent across three Liberal PMs, Scotty is just dressing it up under his own unique brand of smug laziness.
We can’t point to any accomplishments because what has been accomplished hasn’t been done for our benefit. The only things I can think of off the top of my head are the gay marriage plebiscite which you addressed earlier, and JobKeeper/Seeker which Scotty was dragged to kicking and screaming by Labor and state premiers.
