Australian Politics -- from June 2023

Topical.

All sides of politics. Left and right have failed dismally to make meaningful change.

I actually think there should be a real fear that if Yes is successful it will be divisive. The people who keep bringing it up are telling you exactly how they plan to behave if it’s yes.

The ICCC reports where supposed to be an independent and unbiased report to inform knowledgeable debate on climate change. Instead they are generally reported through the lens of far right scouring through the thousands of pages until they can find the one sentence they can spin into outrage. “They want to cancel beef!”

The right will do that with anything the voice produces.

Well they did change a lot of things. They’ve turned a sturdy hearty cohort of hard workers into people fearful of equality and the work it takes to get there.

pretty sure leaded petrol did most of the heavy lifting there

I don’t know your background and I do not want to offend you, but Government (meaning us taxpayers) have spent $Billions of dollars over the past 5 years and longer to “close the gap” and it has failed miserably. Above I post an article from the Age yesterday or the day before which highlighted

Maybe if Government actually listened to First Nations people we might get progress

See, it just doesn’t pass the pub test

I’m not buying anything off you @Bacchusfox ……you’re a shrewd wealthy Tesla driving businessman and you’ll get the better of me around the bridge negotiations

What have you got against greenie hippies ?

The reason its in the constitution is because every effort has been disbanded in the past. And it’s been a government idea not one from the community.

Its a request from indigenous people, indigenous communities.

If someone reads and thinks about it who would currently vote No and instead give change a go. Then it wont be 50% will it?

Which one is she ? Racist or Stupid or both ?

Because Bill, most of them have never been out of North Carlton.

So why aren’t the people who spend our billions and are responsible for the current 3,000 indigenous groups/bodies held accountable? Albo should be saying the Voice will hold them all accountable- that’s a much better pitch to the soft NO voters than saying people are racist

Because there’s doubt in the no camp as to whether there will be meaningful change with the Voice being endorsed, and possibly even giving rise to unwarranted risks. Voters are understandably sceptical about what Politicians say, we don’t trust them even if in this instance it’s different.
