Australian Politics, Mark II

Yeah ■■■■ em right?

Sorry but you’ve got this completely wrong. A sovereign currency issuing government can never run out of money and can set whatever terms they want if they choose to issue bonds. They always rule over bond markets.

Probably not declaring the rental either.

Works beautifully for Venezuela, doesn’t it.

Holy ■■■■. I should have known better than to come here to discuss politics.

Forgot to apply the sarcastica font there. Too subtle.

Erm maybe because their currency is pegged to the US dollar like most Latin American countries

Try explain to me how Australia or the U.S could default on their borrowings please

Might argue he has an “effective and hardworking member”.

I can imagine a scenario where lenders stop lending…so we go to roll our maturing debt, and the lenders say “you’re looking like an increasingly risky borrower, so we will need you to pay 10% interest rate on this rolling debt, and we’re not lending you any incremental pricipal”.

So yes, we don’t technically default…but we reach a painful dead end to our spending.

The overall point I wanted to make is that there are limits to how much a nation should borrow…we should always aim to “live within our means”.

Well Lance, I do not read newspapers. However, some Union Leaders have been passionate about the plight of refugees, especially at the ACTU, including Sally McNamus and previously Ged Kearney. Policy will be set today finally for the election, and I will bet it does not change fron stopping the boats.

Now after Labor wins, then there will be a “review” and I can guarantee that.

Yah and nay PP2.

Business runs like that as well. Capital investment is not on the profit and loss except for depreciation.

I try not to read newspapers either. (unless there’s a full page photo of Joey on the back) It might have been the ACTU that i was reading about. I doubt even if they did change the policy before the election it could save the Liberals at this stage.

Broad the Mallee root. Didn’t know you were livig in the Mallee, 'Boot. Bit of a change from Tassie.

They’ve dragged out tweets he made during the SSM dispute and when ol’ Beetroot Head’s ■■■■ got him in bother, and suggesting he might be a hypocrite.

Wow. This bloke is the MP of my electorate. Always suspected he was a ■■■■. May have just lost the safest seat in the country. Please let it be. Need a high profile woman to run as an independent and repeat what Ali Cupper did in the state election.

Mine too.

New Idea must be travelling poorly if they print this as a story - Seeking Arrangement is a quasi escort site and privacy is supposed to be sacrosanct in that industry - The woman is giving the industry a bad name.
