Australian Politics, Mark III

You corrupt the use of corrupt !

Is that for me? Corrections have a mission statement like many companies and organisations which is supposed to be adhered to, a duty of care and rehabilitation. Its garbage, its a revolving door system and the majority of people come out worse than before they went into jail. Mental Health issues are common and I’m not just talking about the prisoners. Corrections deliberately and not dissimilar to the AFL and Essendon in the Saga, neglect their duty of care almost daily in so many ways, ask Carl Williams he copped it. However when someone is really ill and not talking about faking it, I’m talking about a serious injury or an infection, to leave people hanging in that situation for weeks not days is a serious breach of duty of care. Its common place. Try waiting months to see a Dentist or a Doctor with an abcess its not uncommon.

So if it was for me and I corrupt the use of corrupt, we are looking at stuff from opposite sides of the road.

On their own figures, ten years ago, Corrections said probably about 10% of people who go into jail are probably not guilty. The lack of proper legal assistance and support and many who choose to represent themselves (very foolish) because they cannot afford a Solicitor, end up in jail. Please don’t say they could have legal aid, many of the freebee solicitors are as useless as. I’ve sat in a lot of court rooms with people and am highly amused with the court system which is a play of ego’s and a bit of a cosmic joke. Amusing.

Question.

Are you working in a Privatised or State funded Prison? Can’t help but think it’s the former on the strength of that.

What crack has Tanya Plibersek been smoking today.

I have no insight into how accurate that may be but if its close then that is a dire situation & failure of the system. I do remember reading that the US estimated between 2-5% so if we are doing significantly worse then it needs far more attention.

If my friends ask me I always tell them, if you have to go to court, get the best Solicitor and/or Barrister you can afford, if its for something very serious, if you have to borrow money to get the best do it.

I know some one whose life was ruined by false testimony, and later, even though it was proven the three women had lied, all kept their $40,000 from the Victims of Crime. None were charged. Three trials later, my friend was found not guilty. By that time he had been in jail, for 18 months, his reputation shredded and ruined and life wrecked. No compensation was ever paid. He could never return to his previous occupation and got a job driving semi’s taking pigs to the slaughter yards.

As we were walking out of the County Court in Melbourne with the Barrister, the Crown Prosecutor strolled along and began talking to the Barrister and we heard him say, “This should never have gone this far but you know its our job to ensure that Justice is being seen to be done.” So help me God I could have punched his head in. Justice I learned that day, is being satisfied with an outcome and realising what happened to our friend can happen to anyone, any time. The same rules are there for everyone but not everyone follows them and some know where the loop holes are and how they can be exploited and often it is. It was suggested to me, I should not take the stand in this trial, it could have an effect on my employment, I did testify anyway.

Nope it was for @benfti the green

Did you actually listen to what Tanya said.

I am not sure I see a problem with kids reciting a pledge. We did it every day at High School and none of my school mates ended up as NAZIS. In fact, if we had more people who thought of Community and not just of themselves then we may get better outcomes at elections.

Yeah, because we have such a rich history in the last forty or so years of community mindedness.

In this exact moment in time, with all going on, that is what we should be discussing

Your daily reminder that we are living undee fascist regime:

Wasn’t it Amanda Vanstone that got caught by the sniffer dogs at the airport one day?

They found three kilos of crack in her undies.

She’s out there fighting for all the great causes though…so hard being an oppressed white male these days.

“The quiet Australians aren’t happy about the constant male-bashing in our society and I’m working to try to change that.”

Very good point Mr Beastie; and just when did we stop the Pledge and Allegiance to the flag stuff ???

45 years ago, I was a school-teacher; not a very good one I will admit, but the changes that happened during my short teaching career were pushing the individual and attempting to teach self-reliance. At the time, I was a young inexperienced teacher, but many of the older teachers, especially in PE argued that team sports built a sense of community and how to work together. I would strongly argue now that teaching Civics and Politics is very important and encouraging all to be involved in community building is good practice. In times of emergency Aussies can be great at helping others, but outside of that, most dont give a toss about Community.

But I do have less “rights” now than I had 50 years ago.

I can’t grab some ■■■■■ without being charged with assualt.
I can’t smack my Wife and Kids without being charged with assualt.
I can’t call migrants, aboriginals, disabled, homosexuals, Muslims, Jews and many other groups without being in trouble.

I am sure there are many other things that Ms Arndt is fighting for me to give me my rights back. What a great Australian !!

i become ‘the green’ when i bag labor LOL

Thought you would wear that with pride.

If you reckon Bettina Arndt was an undeserving recipient of a gong, what about Ted Baillieu? Wins an election to everybody’s surprise including his own, becomes a wishy-washy do nothing Premier and then quits when it all becomes too hard for him.

Ted didnt quit.

you forgot, i walked away from them after the last QLD state election. I didnt like the way they talked about or treated labor.

Im fully independent now. Even In the process of starting my own party.
