Australian Soccer Thread (A-League/FFA Cup/Socceroos/Matildas) (Part 2)

Matildas playing a friendly against China in front of yet another sell-out crowd. That makes 13 in a row! Is this now the most watchable Australian sporting team?

Probably but just not this last 29 mins

And China score :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

A tightly contested, congested game so far. 0-1.

Hayman scores the equaliser from close range after a Fowler free kick in the last minute of play. 1-1.

I was there. Great last couple of minutes after many close attempts in the 2nd half.

Loved seeing all the young kids there who were absolutely loving it.

The Matildas would definitely have to be our most popular sports team.

Such a roar when they finally nailed the chance.
It was a great atmosphere and a well done event in my view the only nightmare was crossing the bridge afterwards

I felt that was one of the easier crosses over the bridge :joy:.

How hard was it for you to give up watching some of the French Open, with your passion for tennis?

It was ok. It’s only week 1  plus it wasn’t a late night so I watched tennis when I got home.

It appears Thursday’s game between the Socceroos and Bangladesh will not be shown on FTA TV. Bugger.

the assist from vine will stay with me forever

Nearly 77,000 in attendance tonight.

North Melbourne would happy with that many in a season!

tillies really are australias team

So would the Tillie’s Mens team

Yep that thru ball was a thing of beauty

The only thing that bugs me about the Tillies doing so well is me having to explain the offside rule to NRL supporting Mrsharvs every frickn game as she loves watching them play.
The pass from Vine to Raso last night gave me the perfect example to demo why it wasn’t offside

offside rule for dummies, obviously doesn’t cover 100% of all possible scenarios:
has to be at least one defender between all attackers and the goalie, unless the ball is there or on its way

paramount on browser makes this game look like its from the 90s
