I think your phrase “unwatchable slog” is so perfect. He’s turned “blue collar” into boring, ugly, unsustainable and outdated playing style that supporters hate watching.

I think the past 20 years have proved that the coach isn’t necessarily the problem (we have definitely had some poor ones in that time).

**Rutten can’t help that there is absolutely no leadership whatsoever throughout the list (**despite us always seeming to attempt to draft for this above the ability to actually play football).

He needs to be backed and given as much time as needed to clear the dross out of the list. The issues lie at the feet of those above him and the playing group. He can’t play for them.

If the rumours of the powers at be “overruling” his gameplan during the week are true then it just goes to show the extent of the problem that we have as a club as he would be coaching with one hand tied behind his back.

The issues we have currently have been embedded in the club far longer than Truck’s tenure.

I would just like to see us actually back him.

If there’s no leadership in the current list, why does he keep playing the same players , who lack leadership ?

what is he doing to create leaders ? what do people think happen, player x walks down the street, jumps the fence and says hey boys i’m a natural born leader and i’m going to make you great ?

The players are what they are, it’s his job to weed out the poor examples of leaders and remove them from the side.
3 of them are still main stays essentially in teh side in shiel, hepp and smith.
how do you expect to build new leaders with better examples of what good leadership is, if you continue to allow them to be the leadership benchmark ?

Whether any of us like it or not (and i agree the players are a big issue) he will be sacked way before any other players get the ■■■, so he’d want to find a way quick smart to show some leadership of his own.
