Yes I’m on a 30 day SIM which will expire before I go home. I have downloaded the map areas I need.
Looking for a new el cheapo plan for when I get home. Mine has just gone up 30%

My daughter has long had a Vodafone phone for personal use, and was given a Telstra for work, travelling around Melbourne & country Victoria.
She was about to dump Vodafone and pay the extra for Telstra because the coverage was so much better. Then came the Vodafone network boost, and now she’s very happy she stayed with Vodafone.
That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
No worries. But can’t tell you what the Vodafone coverage is like at Beech Forest unfortunately
Aldi and Pennytel both use the Telstra network. Not sure they get full coverage, but I’ve been using the latter for a few years and service has always been good on Qld - Vic inland road trips
Aldis just dropped their cheapest plan.
I’m on a cheap dodo plan. 18 dollars a month.
I always believe in buying phones outright(even if they cost thousands) and going sim only.
I’m with Telstra, we have a bundle for home internet, plus I pay for my partner and 4 kids phones on a plan. We own all phones.
Should I be looking at something like Boost mobile, Telstra is so damn expensive? Happy to keep internet with Telstra I guess.
Maybe eh?
I use leaptel for my nbn. Thats 85 a month for a 100/20 plan unlimited.
Phone I just have dodo’s cheapest 18 a month.
I think the misso is with amaysim on something similar.
I always spend some time each year to seek out better deals on the phones, electricity, mortgage, insurances.
If you want Telstra I think the wholesale networks are fine. Aldi mobile is actually Telstra coverage.
Boost is great for the coverage and price.
I have moved over to Woolworths though $36 a month on the Telstra wholesale but 10% off a shop a month is huge if your tactical with it
You need to tell Leaptel to match the same price for 500/50 Unlimited, that is what i am on.
@sausageroll either wireless or somehow not auto-updated to 500
I don’t think I can go much higher on my crummy fibre to the kerb. But I might move house in a few months. Will def do then
You should be able to get a free FTTP upgrade? Ask them.
Good call
I had Vodafone for a while, but this was a few years ago. Had no issues but did not go far away from cities or highways between them.
You could consider using an esim while travelling. Or switching to More, especially if you bank with CBA.
More uses the Telstra network. For oversease use, you can buy “travel packs”, which FYI cost:
| Life span | Price (incl. GST) | Data | SMS | Voice Calls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 Days | $35 | 5GB | 30 | 30 mins |
| 14 Days | $55 | 10GB | 60 | 60 mins |
Yeah, I’m with Exetel 80 pm for 500/50 unlimited.
They’ve been great for years. FTTP, and it nearly always exceeds the speed the plan lists, at all different variations of plans we’ve had with them.
Just realised I replied to wrong person. Let’s pretend I didn’t haha. But was agreeing these days can get that faster speed for around 80 odd per month
I signed up for a month trial. They say 4G at Beech Forest, which is what Telstra offer. I’ve kept Telstra going for the time being. The Voda plan is $17 per month cheaper and gives me 10GB more.
This is the way
