We've got to wait a few more weeks to see some of the contenders - Wolf of Wall St & 12 Years A Slave are coming out towards the end of the month.

l saw it two nights ago. lt is an emotional tour de force. Has oscars written all over it. Not an easy movie to sit through, but then it is not meant to be. lt is provocative and brutal in many places, but there are many powerful scenes and images. Michael Fassbender does a unforgettable job with an unsympathetic role, as one of the white slave owners.
