Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare” this century

Ok, I got the sense from your wording that he needed to go back into play in the most direct, shortest path. Seems like you didn’t mean that. Carry on.

It warms my heart to see that after throwing the ball for years, Oliver is now being pinged for throwing the ball. What makes it even more amusing is the look of utter confusion on his face each time he now gets pinged, he is finding it hard to believe that was has been second nature to him for most of his career, is now denied to him.

If you want to see why umpiring is in a state of disrepair watch the last 5 minutes of last nights game …

Umpire 12 must have been umpiring with his eyes closed or lost his whistle

Then the last free kick to give the lions the win lol they walk it over all game with no intent and they pick one … yes it was there but geez when you don’t pay a free for 5 minutes when anyone could see there was at least 10 free kicks is well wow

Oh it was umpire 12 not the umpire you see near it in the tv

You had to pay that. Or why bother having the rule at all. It wasn’t a skill error.

Well in his defence we did kick that 30 point super goal 1 minute after that throw. What an Essendon hating moron.

Then the set shot for goal from that free kick…

Umpire calls ‘play on’ when the ball and player are both well outside of the field of play.

Last week that was called out of bounds, this week it’s not…results in the winning goal.

No big deal…

There was another one last night where a Brisbane player marked in the centre of the ground, Pickett was behind him in the protected area, Brisbane player didn’t know and went to play on, Pickett knocked the ball away, and only then did the ump call play on. If the game was being adjudicated to the whistle it should have been 50m against Pickett.

That’s not how the rule works.

Seriously, do you think the ball is instantly out of bounds once you kick or handball it (“have played on”)? If that was the case, there would be a lot more throw-ins…

It would also make it impossible to have a set shot at goal from the boundary after the siren.

You watch on Monday the AFL explain that the decision was correct due to the player wearing an Essendon jumper
