Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare” this century

Your old man was half right.
Bill and Robbie Waterhouse were as crooked as you can get.

■■■■ this garbage

Sick of the Draper ‘dive’ rubbish
5 secs earlier in that sequence a blatant Essendon free was missed
If that free is paid as it should have been, there is no Draper dive. Even so Drapers back was jumped into. That whole issue was not clear cut at all.

Unlike Drapers arm chopping or Menzie running over the behind line against Geelong.

Today Port handball thru for a behind and no saints player within 10m. All good

Time to act. A few thousand “Jacob Mollison is a cheat” banners similar to our stand by Hird campaign is something I am very willing to help finance. He should be exposed as a corrupt kent who at a minimum should never be allowed to umpire our games again. The club are cowards, time for the fans to make a stand.

Any such banners would be quickly confiscated in the stadium.

Remember in the Saga years that lady who had a pretty innocuous sign…? That was confiscated by the AFL’s bullyboys.

Maybe we could get it done by skywriting.

Remember that 3 week period when we received 15 frees total. Amazing how often this crp goes on to enforce what is clearly a pre determined outcome.

There is no way this stuff is coincidence.

Not before they attracted the attention we need. The “Stand by Hird” posters were against the AFL agenda but they weren’t silly enough to try to attack fans directly.

I think there was a very similar one to Menzies on the night by the first gamer. That one was allowed of course.

What is the fine these days?
I’d gladly contribute to the fund and help pay the fine!!!

Full summary of the quarter below. Long read for anyone who’s interested. It’s insane what happened to us!

18:34 HTB not paid against Dangerfield, called play on when tackled by Durham and doesn’t make contact or the ball with his foot or hand. 70 meters out from our goal

18:22 - should have been a free to the Cats when Caldwell doesn’t dispose of the ball and throws it 47m out from our goal

We hit the front by 5 points with 18 minutes remaining

16:12 remaining - deliberate out of bounds paid against us on our half back line when Peter wright was a few meters away from the ball. On a wet night

Neale misses from 10m out, we’re up by 4 with 14:20 remaining

Myers is tackled and doesn’t dispose of the ball properly and it’s play on, ball goes to Stengel and he goals, cats up by 3 with 14 remaining.

Martin screws us with a pitiful inside 50 turn over with 13 mins remaining

12:42 remaining, Draper blatant arm chop 25m out directly in front of our goal. No free kick paid. We’d have been 3 points up. Not only was his arm chopped, his arm was brought down by Touy. Could have been paid both an arm
Chop and holding the man

2 seconds later a when the ball is thrown up, a non existent free is paid against Draper. There’s no justification for any free to be paid. Guelfi, Draper, Gresham, Caldwell and Langford are bemused and protest - 12:35 remaining and we’re still 3 points down.

The cats take the ball down quickly and rowan marks and goals with 11:44 remaining. Cats up by 10.

We should have been up by 3 and now down by 9.

Stringer received a handball from Perkins at 11:28m. By the time it’s in his hands tough as his right arm on him, absolutely no prior. He is wrapped up whilst it’s still 11:28m on the clock so not even a second. In the frame at 11:27m touys right arm in on stringers neck and right shoulder, should be paid too high. It’s someone paid holding the ball. Durham protests to the ump. 6 bombers players are on screen and the cats get a super kick turn over back into their centre. Cameron Ling even calls out that stringer should not have been paid HTB.

11:22m remaining.

10:33m remaining and Menzie takes the ball over the line. The closest player to him is 1 and a half meters away. Menzies back is turned to them as he thought he could have been tackled by 2 players. One in the goal square about 4 meters away from him and another just out but about 1-2 m away. The rule is within the 9 meter box. An absolutely abhorrent call from the ump.

Cats 15 points up with 10:15remaining. If stringer had his shot from a free paid to him
Not the other way around we’d likely be 3 points down. We’re now 15 down.

Cats players laughing, bombers players fuming and shell shocked. All commentators say it’s an incorrect decision.

Lav down hurt.

At 9:51m Guelfi paid a free for HTB.

9:38m - Langford should have had a HTB decision paid against him 10m out from our goal but they don’t pay it.

8:43m - goldy held in a boundary ruck throw in, no call paid, de Koning throws the ball over his head and no call is paid.

8:38 remaining, we’re 15 down and they show the bench. Draper, McGrath, Durham and Gresham all on it. Draper and Durham look dejected

Another throw over the head by the cats at 8:05m on the wing and nothing paid.

In the next contest at 7:53m, Ridley grabs the ball as it bounces to him and he’s immediately tackled by Stengel who wraps one arm around him and holds his other. Ridley has no prior and it’s trying to get rid of the ball which his pinned to him. The ump #16 has plain view of this from 4 meters way and calls HTB. McKay, Lav, Ridley and Guelfi, Menzie are furious. Merrett has his hands on his head and tells the ump. Darcy in the commentary said there’s no way that was free. Daisy said under the revised rule the ump should have called ball up immediately to protect Ridley from injury yet calls HTB against him.

They kick truely from 30 m out and we’re down by 21 and cooked. Game over with 7 remaining in the 3rd. Our spirits were killed in 5 minutes of actual play with 7 absolute horseshit decisions going against us. They get in front by an extra 18 points from this but we lost multiple scoring opportunity

Even Jobe said should have been ball up.

Cats up by 21 with 7 remaining

Commentators saying they’ve road a lot of luck

Jobe the moron said the cats tacking intensity good

6:45m left, free paid to McKay for HTM, cats kick the ball away and get the whistle blown. They kick it 35m away, no 50m paid. 7 bombers protest

With 6:18m remaining Daisy must have been told to change his tune in the box. Went from calling out bs frees to us to then saying their turn over game has given them 4 goals to 1 this quarter. This 5 seconds after the replay of the Ridley free Menzie and Draper free free to highlight how we were robbed 3 goals.

Duursma takes a mark with 5:49m remaining, 15m out from cats goal. Jeremy Cameron punched him in the balls with a stray left hand. Duursma struggled to get up, no 50m

Draper takes a mark 20m out directly in front of our goal with 5:13m remaining. Was knocked out and called play on.

Durham tackles and incorrect disposal from cats player 25m out with 5:09m remaining and not HTB free paid. Goldy, Caldwell, stringer, Gresham, Durham all furious

Darcy can’t believe it. We’d have at least gotten back to 15 point heading into last. But remain 21 down and flatter.

Cats kick it deliberate out of bounds 75m away from our goal with 4:51m remaining. No free kick. Crowd is furious. Again commentators call out the disparity being we’ve had them paid earlier

Guelfi who was going to take the kick can’t believe it “bombers fans going nuts” the commentators calls

All the players stopped. Daisy calling out how poor the decious and how when players all stop on both sides it’s the sign of what both teams expected

Channel 7 repeating multiple horseahit calls with replays with 4:43m to go

Durham blatantly held with 4:32 remaining, loos back at the umps whilst running with his arms out. Ump calls “play on” crowd furious

Bombers still showing signs of plenty of run but now 4 goals down.

Henry possesses ball and runs into stringer to take him on at 4m, no HTB called. 2MP has arms out in disgust
Commentators say “cry’s of ball all around the MCG again”.

Goldy has an arm wrapped around his neck at 3:57m right in front of ump in ball up, “play on”.

Ling the morning says “essendon really need to take ascendancy at this ball up as goldy is dominating”. Push in the back to goldy at 3:38m by de koning who can’t compete against goldy and again no free

3:23m blitzards has it knocked out of his hand in a tackle 48m from our goal, no HTB

Goldy being held in ball up 3:15m left 45m out from Goal, no free.

3:05m - Stewart tacked by 2 bombers and striped if the ball without disposing it, 55m directly in front of our goal. No free kick. Players stopped and Darcy says it should be HTB. Says “how did he dispose of that”

#30 for them dives on the ball at 3:01m at CHF for us, tackled, no HTB paid. 7 bombers players furious with the ump, particularly Merrett, Martin, jones, goldy, Caldwell Duursma and Guelfi who are all now demoralised. 2:57m left and Luke Darcy says “this is fascinating as the bombers just can’t take a trick here” for at least the 5th time this quarter the non paying if HTB frees for us in comparison to those plays to them are replaced.

Another commentator said “gee wiz” with 2:55m left after 3 more replayed. We’re still fighting but players looking defeated by the umps, not the cats

Small crowd going full boo urns

2:35m left Caldwell lucky not to have HTB paid against him 50m out from our F50 goal

Finally at 2:30m left a free is paid to us for deliberately kicking out of bounds by Dr koning 80m away from our goal

2:24m “reaction says everything” says the commentator as the crowd cheers

1:50m left, number #39 for them walks the balls out over the boundary with the closest player Merrett meters away. No deliberate paid which would have been a shot on goal. Merrett furious. Should would have been 35m out.

Throw by a cat, 51m out of our goal with 1:43m left in front of 2 umpires in shot, play on called

Massive boo and Darcy said “controversial quarter” at 3/4 time

Thanks for the effort, that’s a lot of work. Some of the decisions were next level atrocious but we won the free kick count and are third ( positive ) in free kick differentials for the year. I’m very biased and think we’re always getting screwed. My problem is when Collingwood or in recent years Richmond ( worst differential when winning and still the worst when losing ) are getting screwed, it doesn’t seem to effect them like us. Their supporters go crazy like we do but the players seem composed and respond. We seem to sulk, drop our heads and lose all structure. Despite the rubbish umpiring we still need to find an easier way if scoring and defending goals. Our chaos football won’t stand up over time.

“Free kick differential” is such a flawed, useless stat.

Using it implies that teams magically infringe the exact same amount, and obviously doesn’t care when/where the frees are paid.

That said, shocking calls do seem to affect our players more than most. I understand it, but standing there with your arms out won’t magically make an umpire change their mind.

We just need to be better at the things we can control, and accept that Umpires are absolutely ■■■■■■■ useless and stealing a wage. Anyone as bad at their job as they are would be fired immediately.

If ■■■■■■■ Gerald, who has been persistently hating on us in commentary for three decades, thinks that… well, nothing will change, regardless.

Have you seen the sky the last week or so?

Missed the be where Danger slides into McKay’s legs, which I’m pretty sure also resulted directly in a goal. Or was that in a different quarter?

So basically because the umpires made a poor non decision 10 weeks ago they’ve decided to make up for it by penalising the player more in the ensuing weeks.
It was their mistake in the first place but the players pay for it every time.

Should have got a clear 50 here too for Stewart handballing the ball away well after the decision.

True premiership quarter from the umps.

I can’t recall a bigger, more persistent and blatant rogering from the umps for a whole quarter in all my time watching football.

It is BS. Umpire error should be recorded as a score source

They will ignore it all. They don’t care.
The only people who actually do care are the supporters and the AFL care even less about us than they do about getting the decisions right.

The problem is that it is too subjective. And the AFL can spin any decision they want to be correct.
