Blatant cheating by umpires - “having a ‘mare” this century

Yikes.

Someone must have the stats on free kicks in the second half.
It must be even more obscene.

Bulldogs home game, at Collingwoods home ground. The cheating started there
OK, the Dogs might have agreed to it for money, but that probably cost them the game.
The Pies do not play well at AFL stadium and consequently absolutely hate the place

Then the umps end up giving the PIES more posessions than Pendles got in the game

The doggies had 5 of the first 6 free kicks which razzed up the savages. So after that 33-9

Good to see that at least 2 in the media are prepared to call the cheating out. Crickets from the HS and others

And I’m done with AFL.

In truth, I was done well before last night’s game but this is one of those realisations like when you’re thinking of leaving a job and then one day you just can’t stomach being there anymore and you say “■■■■ it, I quit”.

Like a relationship that’s been dead for over six months but you don’t have the balls to finish it and then one day you know it’s simply unhealthy to keep going the way you’re both going. You just can’t do it anymore.

The game is ruined - as they say - a shadow of its former self.

And I didn’t even watch last night’s game.

I didn’t have to - to know what went on.
To experience the now familiar range of wasted emotions - the angst caused by the grey area of the AFL rule book, the stress caused by the inability of your team to overcome despite being the better team, and the frustration caused by what appears to be such incompetent officiating that it makes you wonder if there’s something more going on.

And it wasn’t even a Essendon game.
May be it took a team that wasn’t Essendon to remove the bias and realise that it’s simply just not worth it anymore.

Betting on AFL and the AFL’s dictatorial approach to the game are responsible for destroying Aussie Rules Football.

I used to love footy.
Footy was a good time.
Win and it was a celebration.
Lose and whilst disappointing, you could stomach it and there was always next week.

Now, it’s just two hours of angst, bitterness and frustration.

Nothing surer, the Bombers will reign supreme again one day and our supporters will forget all of the crap and forgive all of the frustration.

It will feel like the biggest bandwagon ride of our lives, but it will be when the AFL decides it’s our turn.

The wiser of us might check out until that time, the wisest of us will check out now before we lose our minds.

I feel ya.

I didn’t even know our round 0 game was moved until the day of. Then checked the scores mid Q1 last week. And didn’t watch.

It’s not just that the bombers kinda suck. I love the club and the players. But the sport of ‘AFL’ (different from Australian Rules) is farcical.

Now weekends are for chilling, stress free. There’s always something else worth doing.

Doggies got a few lucky ones early and pies started Bronx cheering once they got a couple back which clearly had an effect on the umpires’ mindset. The count would’ve been about 31-7 from then on.

Williamson and foot are shocking shocking umpires

No more free kicks for Geelong and Essendon

So what has changed?

Geelong usually get them.

Haha. Geelong have been getting an armchair ride from the maggots for years. It’s like they play under a different set of rules.

Welcome to my world.

Fark the AwFL for killing what was once the best game in the world.

The 4 Umpire system does not work.
1 Umpire interprets one way, another another and so on.
The umpiring in that game was frustrating because of this, they had no impact on the result; but it ruins the spectacle.

That does not explain the 31 of the last 38 frees to Collingwood.

If anything, that stat reveals an extraordinary and alarming degree of co-ordination between the 4 maggots.

$150,000 for a part timer who has no idea what he’s doing?

Solid business model.

Sorry to bump this for a non Essendon game but Adelaide got absolutely shafted in the last 30 seconds.
